View Full Version : What is going on?

I have been a member of Forums for a few months now, and to be honest sometimes I feel like the children of Israel completing the rebuilding of the Temple in Jerusalem, the old people cried at how it paled in comparison to the glory of the original, and the young people praised God for the glory and beauty of the new one.
In the time that I have been a member, things have seemed ok, and perhaps that is because I am not as involved as many here. But then I read threads about how people are fed up with this place and can't stand the way things are. Sometimes I feel like I am walking through a minefield with my eyes closed, and I don't like that feeling. :(
Certainly I have encountered a few issues with others, and have seen some things that I did not care for. But, overall I think this is a wonderful site for people to get together and discuss God. Maybe I am being naive. Additionally, looking at the new rules that Lee has proposed, I think things seem to be on the incline.
I guess what I am wondering is, can someone shed some light on the goings-on here for me? I'd like to get out of the dark now
(Also, why is there so much hatred for the Wiki?)
Thanks

Well, I will try but if this becomes a flame fest from those outside of this forum, I hope no one blames me...
First, Erwin announced that if anyone wanted to call themselves a Christain, they were a Christian. He removed the Creed as the standard. He also allowed dah gheys to wear wedding bands in their profiles. He instituted the wiki for rule making.
This resulted in chaos as people around the board struggled to react and address these changes.
Then, Erwin put up a poll to find out if people wanted a name change or if people wanted to go back to the way things were. The vote was split almost 50/50, but the ones who wanted it to go back had a slight lead of maybe 1%. Erwin changed the name anyway and said that is what members wanted. Nevermind that he had been in negotiations to buy the new foru.ms name all awhile people were voting and discussing in the poll. He already had his mind made up, so alot of people were angry over that and felt that we had been lied to.
Anyway, from the very beginning when CCC was formed, right after the 7-7-07 we had Liberals who came in, voted in our polls, tried to join even though they did not agree with our Statement, and trolled so that they could report people. It was terrible.
Things settled down for a couple of months and then a couple of things happened that caused division here in CCC. First, there was the creation of a private forum for those who were seeking help from demon possession. There was a great deal of concern over that forum for many reasons, but regardless, it was a hot topic and many people were very angry on both sides.
This divided CCC for a time because those of us who supported Be Mi seemed to be siding with the Liberals who were here fighting about it. They were invited here to address the concerns, but it got way out of hand.
Plus, they joined our forum which seemed a bit convenient under the circumstances.
I started a thread about fundamentalists which did not go over very well and was a big mistake on my part. People again were very mad...
Then, Time, one of our mods, who was also fighting very hard against the BeMi forum (the one I just talked about) was banned. His ban was because he was bypassing a previous ban. As it turned out, he was banned the first time by mistake.
Again, more upset, more chaos, more drama.
Then, just this week, a Moderate forum was opened. Many of our members left to go there as there had been so much fighting here. Plus, there was a bit of a premature (imo) discussion about whether Conservative Members could also join the Moderate forum.
We have stuggled, but we have come to realize that it is not each other that we are fighting against, but Satan who is seeking to devour our peace and harmony. We are working through it and I think we have all learned lessons from it.
The main concern for CCC right now is that we should be able to discuss Conservative beliefs without being hassled by Liberals. Like I said, we are still trying to figure it all out. There has been alot of hurt and anger among us, but I believe that everyone here in CCC is truly dedicated to obeying God.

Lisa, Thanks for taking the chance of being burned at the stake to answer my question. :)
Like I said, it was a little confusing at first, but things now seem to be calming down and moving up.

Good job on the rundown.
I also agree that the one thing we all have in common and has remained true through
it all, is our true dedication to obedience to God and being fit for His use and purpose.
As the Word says, "All things work together for good, for them who love God and are called according
to His purpose". I think this forum is a proven example of the truth of that Scripture.
Edit to add: what is becoming of this forum, I mean.
God bless.

It seems like 4 years worth instead of 4 months, don't it.

Kudos Lisa - you are the first to somehow mention BeMi here and not start a war!!!

Lisa, Thanks for taking the chance of being burned at the stake to answer my question. :)
Like I said, it was a little confusing at first, but things now seem to be calming down and moving up.
Nobody would burn lisa at a stake -- there's nothing wrong with giving a brief overview of it all.
The longer time passes by over it, the clearer things become as to what was going on.
But basically, in my view the whole forum is falling apart everywhere & most everybody is suffering the effects in different ways - unless they just hang out in the games areas & stuff....
I think this is just a basic result of a forum crumbling & power struggles to make liberal or conservative.
OR, it could be there's a literal attack going on against Conservatives in general... since some obvious patterns have manifested in spite reporting and other things that look suspicious for sure.
I await Lee's changes, something needs to be done soon in either direction.

It's getting bad all over the site -- any threads where we get together to address issues, it turns into a bloodbath.
No doubt the first step is defining a Christian. Then the internal stuff can better be dealt with.

[quote=Nadiine;

I don't mind having non christian areas but ga forum was getting trashed..We should more than welcome seekers but those who are just here for trouble can find some other site to harass..shalom..Kim

I agree, as far as the whole site goes, but I was talking about where this particular forum
is at the moment compared to where it was even just a few days ago,
on a personal level between our members. What is going on higher up
and broader out is another story, this I know!
God bless.

Also wanted to say I love this place! This site and the Forum in general. Thanks for the great fellowship, I plan on sticking around for a while!:hug:
