No, not other than what is already written in the Word of God on the topic of there
being those who Jesus said, like thieves, would look to enter in another way, sorry.
To do a bullet-point summary would do a great disservice to this sermon,
but maybe you could view it from home?

I added it to my page here. I hope by putting
it there, it will help more people to hear it.

It's David Wilkerson. He's *amazing*.
If you go to his church's website (www.tscnyc.org (http://www.tscnyc.org)) they have all of his sermons and you can download them.
Also, www.sermonindex.net (http://www.sermonindex.net) has loads and loads of his sermons. He really is wonderful. He started Teen Challenge, and he's very much anointed.

Oh that is good to know, thanks for posting that info. Maybe the sermon is at one of those sites.
I had checked this one http://www.davidwilkerson.org/
and although there were many good ones there, unfortunately I did not find this one.
:sigh:
PS. The Title of the sermon is the same as this thread OP. I looked on those other two websites, I haven't found it yet. Still looking.....

Thanks, GM. I probably wouldn't be able to check at home tonight, as I have plans with my kids, and curiosity was getting the better of me. Thanks for at least some info I could see.

I don't disagree with anything that he said. However, I see here the same thing I see when I look back at my church growing up, which had a similarly right attitude towards sin.
They are right in every thing they say about sin and the necessity of holiness. Yet they don't talk about the practicality of HOW you realize those things in life. Through out my life growing up I had numerous times when I came to the cross as he said and confronted sin, and repented... and I'd be good for a while, but after a while, I would always give in to temptation again.
My church never condoned sin, I never believed that way. Yet they also never taught from a practical view point, HOW you could truly overcome sin in your life. How you could pursue holiness.
JC Ryle said that any persuit of Holiness must begin by having a right understanding of sin.. which I think is what this sermon is about. However, that is only the beginning. The first step, as it were.

Actually, he's not very well, so prayers for his health would be so so good  He's a genuine light. I've had nightmares about reading he'd passed away :(

Yes, he has many, many great sermons indeed!
Oh wow, thank you for letting me know, I did not know he was ill, much less possibly unto death.
For us to die is gain, but of course we are selfish and would like to keep him around a little longer! lol

One of the sites is audio though, don't know if that would cause the same problem for some members that the video causes, but as I said, I am not finding it yet anyway. It is based on the sermon of Jesus given in John Chapter 10 though. So, you can go right to your Bible and read what Jesus said there, or here online. John 10 (http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=John%2010;&version=9;)
and get a good indication of what the video sermon is regarding.
God bless.
ps..er...actually both of those sites for sermons are audio....not really sure how you can listen
to those at work, maybe on lunch hour, but I still haven't found this one though. :sigh:

:hug::hug: It's completely selfish... but can't help it. There are so few pastors who can be trusted nowadays - he's one of perhaps 4 that I personally know of - and he's the main one for me, so the idea of him not being around anymore is scary :(
It's in God's timing, though. A friend of mine went to New York for a weekend specifically to attend his church, and the way he described it... he said it was like the church was this one blazing light in a sea of darkness. So Spirit-filled and full of God. Huge, too. Actually, if anyone lives near New York and goes to a service there, would love to hear more about what it's like.

To those that want a short summary of the message:
The idea is that if we are going to make a profession of faith in Jesus, then we better make sure we don't leave out the Christ. There is no sense in talking about how close you are to Jesus Christ if you aren't willing to let Him save you from your sins. Jesus didn't die to give us an excuse for sin. He died to release us from its power!

And yet, this is one truly practical thing that a church can teach its congregation. It was like once it was preached that you shouldn't sin and if you did you should repent - it meant we wouldn't sin anymore? Wow, I wish!
That's one thing I like about Charles Stanley - though I'm nowhere near a Baptist. He teaches how to walk a good Christian walk, especially after you sin and repent.
Wilkerson is very good! Thanks for the site!

some of the things bothered me, when talking about the people who say "all you need is love", while that is an oversimplication and a very prevelant modern heresy, the vitrol in his voice when talking about love bothered me, and the term "sinner friendly church" the Orthodox see the Church as a hospital for sinners, if I did not listen to the end and heard the sadness in his voice over those poor men walking out of the porn shops I do not know how I would feel, the love he has for sinners really touched me

That's because Wilkerson understands how much sinners need a savior. And he also knows that no matter how much Jesus loved sinners, he never ever left them in their sin - he exhorted them to "sin no more". We might "catch" them with love and outreach, but if they are truly caught, God and the Holy Spirit will begin cleaning them up. If they won't allow themselves to be cleaned up, they will be worse off than before. Doesn't mean we shouldn't try, though!

-Cross is man's confrotnation with sins
-it's uncomfortable for many cushy, comortable Christians
-Chirst and sin, either or
-The cross is the Door, the Way to heave to heaven
-Repentance need, ie ask the thieves on other cross
............. love is not enough, the love trap
.............. come by way fo the cross only
.............. lust brings sorrow, scandal, sin
............... slaves ot prono shops, homosexuality, drugs
sin loses its pleasure becomes slavery
-Cross ergo Door to Life
When you come to the cross, the Holy Ghost comes to you, and say you agree that Christ is right about sin.
Crisis of sin, confrontation with sin, that cannot have sin and Holy Ghost together
Cross =Self-Denial eg lust homosexuality pornogralhy
=Death, "I die daily to sin" St Paul

The last paragraph was about St Paul stating that he dies daily to sin.
It is a one day at a time thing, once the realization that sin is making you a slave and destroying you fully sets in.
The crisis of personally knowing that sin is literally destroying your life that is the first step, yes.
It's when sin and pleasure become burdensome, that you really, really want something better and it your cross is no longer a struggle, but a release.

That's true, all sin is offensive to God.
And there is also a big difference between repenting and turning away
from our sin vs justifying our sins and keeping it around as a pet as well
as there is also a serious Biblical distinction between saying we
belong to Him and committing a sin vs living a lifestyle of sin.

God wants us to turn away
From sin so that we won't

If we can continue in sin and not feel convicted to repent of it & deal with it before God, then we seriously need to question if we're born again.
The Holy Spirit's duty is conviction of right and wrong in our hearts... if we don't hear Him, there's a big problem.
