We don't have to be serious all the time and I like knowing a little about the folks I'm fellowshipping with.

We've probably all received these e-mails or seen similar threads on 4U. I admit - I tend to have fun with them, so. . . . copy and paste the questions, fill in your answers.

1. Place of birth? Lima, Ohio (although I generally tell people Van Wert, Ohio - that's where my parents lived, but no hospital)

It depends how long I get to spend on it, and how many essays I have to write. :P

I get to drop one in to uni today, then its only one more and an exam^_^

At the current rate, a long time, however once I've finished at uni, I intend on having a holiday till at least the middle of January before I get into job hunting

suggestion to all the Lego's people - save them!!!

My son always asked for Lego's for his birthday, Christmas - whatever. He had thousands and thousands of them (wasn't unusual to get >5 sets for each of the above events). Best guess at least $1000 invested by all the gift givers combined. Then he just threw them away (I guess it was easier than cleaning up and re-organizing for the umpteenth time).

Still makes me sad - especially now that his son is asking for them.

They sure do. I'm here in the States with my hubby until next March and then will be immigrating... long story. He's American and just doesn't get English humour! I'm not sure if that's the norm or not...

1. Place of birth? Ohio.

2. Favorite day of the week? Any day I have off from work, and have no obligations.

3. Favorite sport to watch? Mixed martial arts I suppose.

4. Favorite movie (one you can always watch)? Robin Hood: Men in Tights.

5. Favorite food? Spaghetti with marinara sauce, hot Italian sausage, lots of onions and garlic, plenty of shredded Italian cheese mix on top. But that's just tonight. Tomorrow's dinner will be my favorite tomorrow, if it's anywhere near that good.

6. Favorite beverage? I had a lovely Australian Shiraz with dinner tonight. That's today's favorite. Ask me on a different day, I'd probably give a different answer.

9. Paint or wallpaper? Paint... and tapestries.

10. Favorite t.v. show? Just one? Ok, Babylon 5.

11. Can you drive a stick shift? Yes, but since I've racked up perhaps half a million miles on automatics and only hundreds on sticks, the difference in comfort level and skill level is immense.

13. What was your favorite toy as a child? A plush stuffed snake, cinnamon colored, maybe 3-4 feet long.

14. When was the last time you cried? Last week.

15. What's on the floor of your closet? Boxes and boxes of stuff.

suggestion to all the Lego's people - save them!!!

One of the docs I work for did her undergrad at UM. She went to OSU medical school (). Her husband is the biggest OSU fan - to the point of being obnoxious about it (common among OSU fans). She can tell when he's been in her office because he turns her UM diploma around to face the wall.

As for me - I grew up in the Woody vs Bo era - couldn't stand Woody. Plus my mom was born and raised in Dearborn - all of her family was from Michigan - and she worked for the UM when I was growing up. So I naturally gravitated towards them. Lots of UM fans in the greater Toledo area - because of the proximity (we're in the disputed land)

The books are always better than the movie (can only think of one instance where the movie stayed really close to the book and both the book and movie are pretty much unheralded - A Separate Peace did an excellent job of following the book closely, probably best I've ever seen along that line).

I can think of one movie that was significantly better than the book it was based on. That was Blade Runner (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blade_Runner), based on Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Do_Androids_Dream_of_Electric_Sheep%3F) by Phillip K. Dick (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phillip_K._Dick). The movie didn't follow the book closely, but instead improved on it. PKD was a brilliant writer, but did way too many drugs, and sometimes his writing was, um, confusing to say the least. The Blade Runner version of that particular story was far more coherent.

My personal favorite PKD story is The Man in the High Castle (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Man_in_the_High_Castle).

:( Am so sorry, Av  What breed was he? :( Was he very adorable?
She was a little husky about 4 months old. When we were moving from northern Quebec to Nova-Scotia she took ill in Montreal airport. I had to miss my flight to find a vet. Took over an hour to find one open - it was Sunday and Canada Day. By then she was too far gone and I had to put her down. :(

On the bright side my older and very pregnant Husky had 8 pups exactly one week later. :)

But am so sorry about little lady :( People who haven't ever owned a dog just don't understand how big a part of the family they become. Tis genuine love between them and us. Am sorry, dude

Ok, for everyone who liked the "bad grammar" shirt ideas, here are some linkies for you :)

I'm warning you, this site has some other shirts some may find mildly offensive, but if you have a good sense of humor, this place is great. And I am a Republican saying this, and so that is saying a lot if you look at their political T's LOL

Just read this over the weekend.

Yes, and the Oilers aren't. So this may be another year where I'm rooting for the Sens in the playoffs. ^_^

Got to game 7 of the finals just 2 years ago.

But, yes, I was a fan back in the golden days, saw them win all five cups. :) Been with them for 26 years.

Apologies to all the non-Canadians, but when two Canucks get talking about hockey we can take over a thread! ^_^

Okay, gotta get the kids ready for trick or treating so the rest of you can have the thread back now. lol.

Hey now, I take offense to that. I grew up watching, playing, and loving hockey. Y'all ain't the only ones with ice, ya know.

I'm from Boston, and I have been following the Bruins for as long as I can remember. I have only one sports jersey that is my own (not dh's that I steal) and that is my O'Reilly jersey. I still love hockey, but I don't follow it as much as I used to.

Red Wings are an original six team, and I always pull for 5 of the 6 originals when its a game that doesn't affect my own team(s) - (Edmonton - Boston - Ottawa). The sixth is the Canadiens, I never pull for them. Hate 'em! They broke Bruins' fans hearts for 40 years! Aaaargh!

Back in the 80s when the cold war was still on the Soviet team played the Canadiens and I rooted for the Russians!

oooh - you're tough.

I would cheer for an original 6 team any day (even the Blackhawks ;) ).

I'm old school though - I miss the old division and conference names (Norris, Campbell, Prince of Wales etc). Sounds so much better than east and west:mad:
