Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, have mercy on me a sinner.

Lord God Almighty, Holy and Just, have mercy upon your Holy Church. Replenish us with Truth, and gird us about with righteousness. Lead us into Your life, and call us again out of the world.

Forgive us our selfishness, and our self indulgence. Forgive us our friendship with the world and our rejection of Your Truth.

Send your Holy Spirit Lord, to inflame our hearts to desire You more.

Have mercy Lord
Grant us grace yet again

The Penitential Rite

I confess to almighty God,
and to you, my brothers and sisters,
that I have sinned through my own fault
in my thoughts and in my words,
in what I have done,
and in what I have failed to do;
and I ask blessed Mary, ever virgin,
all the angels and saints,
and you, my brothers and sisters,
to pray for me to the Lord our God.
(May almighty God have mercy on us,
forgive us our sins,
and bring us to everlasting life.)
Amen

Lord Forgive me. I am the basest of sinners and have done things before you that you hate. I have riled my brothers and sisters to anger and I have caused division. Please heal me, oh Lord and cleanse me from my sin. Please heal these rifts between us and help those I have wronged to forgive me. Help me to forgive as you have forgiven me. Thank you for saving me and giving me a home. Help me, Lord. Help me to only speak with love and kindness. Help my motives to be pure and help me to not offend you with my anger again. Help me to always remember that what I do to the least of yours, I do to you. If I love, then, I love you, and if I cause harm, then, it is to you that I have caused pain to.

The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.

We often do a bad act, and make a worse excuse.
Thomas a Kempis

Daily sanctification is God's process of convicting us to repent throughout our Christian life. We will never be perfect and at the same time we desire NOT to sin. This is an "inward" relationship with the Holy Spirit and His conviction in our hearts to repent which is why we are to pray as we breath because we will sin accidently. If you do not repent when the Holy Spirit tells you to repent, then you many not be saved in the first place.

Does this not remove the doctrine of assurance?

Does this not remove the doctrine of assurance?

This is not about Doctrine of Assurance because I do believe in God's promise is eternal because Christ is the mediator of the covenant, that we receive the promised eternal inheritance. With that promise, as a Christian, I always thank God continually for my guarantee of my spiritual security and freedom in Christ. Christ is the mediator of the new covenant, that we receive the promised eternal inheritance.

This is about who claims to be Christians when in their hearts, they know they are not. Jesus is saying in the Bible that He cannot do our repenting for us. He died for our sins, now it is up to us to pick up the cross. There are millions of professing Christians who "think" they have been justified, who think their sins are forgiven and that they are on their way to heaven, who show no evidence of the regenerating work of the Holy Spirit in their lives. Many Christians are unthinkably horrified when a real sinner is suddenly discovered among the righteous. So we remain alone with our sin, living in lies and hypocrisy.
