http://www3.christianforums.com/images/icons/icon4.gif Very, Very Urgent Prayer Request!!!

My Dear Brothers and Sisters,

As I enter this post, thre are over 20,000 acers on fire here in San Diego County California, that are being driven by Santa Ana winds of up to 85 miles per hour.

The fires are advancing at an unbelieveable rate toward seveal towns and populated areas. There have already been an unknown number of deaths and many serious injuries. There are also many farm and domestic animals involved. The evacuation routes are jamed with people trying to flee.

YOUR PRAYERS ARE UGENTLY NEEED!!!
Your brother in Christ,
Doc

Lord have mercy on us sinners we are.

Because of our recent fires in Greece, it saddens me to see that national disaster repeating itself to more people.... we lost almost 100 people...:( Now we suffer because of mudslides... :(

Don't forget the fires in Los Angeles County.

The folks in Canyon Country have been evaculated with winds driving the inferno estimated to be over 100 mph.

What is fueling these flames in Southern California is often desert chaparrel which is loaded with volatile oils.

Pepperdine University was spared, but a Presbyterian Church and an historical castle burned to the ground in Malibu.

San Bernardino County has wild fires too.

There are now more than 13 infernos.

Where I live, I can smell the fumes.

LOS ANGELES -- Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger proclaimed a state of emergency in San Diego, Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino, Santa Barbara and Ventura counties on Sunday night due to the wildfires burning in the region. The proclamation allows the state Office of Emergency Services to deploy personnel and equipment to assist in the various fire fights.

Nearly a dozen wildfires driven by powerful Santa Ana winds spread across Southern California on Sunday, killing one person near San Diego, destroying several homes and a church in celebrity-laden Malibu, and forcing hundreds from their homes.

Do you know if there are any Orthodox churches around those places? That would be aweful if they are near by the fires... We had to evacuate one monastery in Greece I think.

I pray we do not have any victims and the authorities evaculate everyone on time...Lord have mercy.

I think that it is rather crude that they have mixed "Ghost Pictures" in with the fire pictures.:eek: Is that some kind of sick joke??? I thought the photo with the horses was....well....wow!

I pray the fires have gone down some. Is it still as windy there? We have very high winds here today. If they are anything like this...then I will be praying very heavy for a long time!

Do you still smell the fumes? Are you in a safe area???:crosseo::crosseo:

So far, things look better.

The winds have died down here, but it is going to be in the 80s so that will not help. The humidity is like 7 percent.

We need a gentle rain -- not a torrent.

Unfortunately the wind actually picked up overnight. This morning the humidity is 5% at the coast and 20 miles inland it is 3%. The current weather forcast calles for higher winds and tempretures are expected to hit 100 degrees. San Diego County is the #1 fire prioity in the State. The fire has covered more than 30 miles and is following almost the exact path our devestating Cedar fire of 4 years ago took. This morning one of the area hospitals I serve is evacuating patients. This is without a doubt the worst fire that I have ever seen in my lifetime and I have seen some pretty bad ones.

BREAKING NEWS ALERT: SAN DIEGO COUNTY FIRE INFORMATION UPDATE

October 22, 2007 (6:52 AM) -- Several new fires have broken out around San Diego County overnight.

Mayor Jerry Sanders reported in a Monday morning press conference that mandatory evacuations are now underway everywhere north of Highway 56, east of Interstate 5, west of Interstate 15 and south of Del Dios Highway.

Residents can now report to Qualcomm Stadium, which opened Monday morning as a new shelter location.

Crews are working to prepare the Del Mar Fairgrounds as a shelter. It is not open yet. Visit www.cbs8.com (http://www.cbs8.com) for updated information.

Mayor Sanders stresses that it is very important for all residents to be on alert and be prepared in case of an evacuation. If you feel threatened or see a fire in your area, Mayor Sanders says to evacuate immediately. Do not wait for evacuation orders.

The Mayor's Office says if you don't have to report to work today, please stay home.

Residents should call 2-1-1 for all non-emergency calls related to the fires. Due to large call volume, residents are also urged to find fire information online at www.211SanDiego.org (http://www.211SanDiego.org).

Fire Chief Bill Metcalf for the North County Fire Protect District in Fallbrook calls the fires raging around the county an "extraordinarily serious fire event, extraordinarily dangerous fire event that is no where near finished."

FOR COMPLETE FIRE INFORMATION, stay tuned to News 8 and cbs8.com for the LATEST updates.

My ears are severely impacted by all the chemicals in the air. Fire retardants, chemicals stored in people's garages that burst into flames and are subsequently released into the air. All of this is severely affecting our health. There is a chemical soup in the air.

I have the air condition on.

MariaRegina

The mask really doesn't work.

It restricts my supply of air, and the chemicals in the mask also bother me.

Sometimes, I just get a wet washcloth and put that over my face, but I cannot walk fast or I get dizzy.

Prayers for your safety and of all who are affected. On my lunch break I have just read on yahoo that 300,000 people are being told to evacuate San Diego county itself. God bless all of you. Lord forgive us our sins and grant us our prayers. Blessed saints pray for us. Most Holy Theotokos save us.

My ONLY American friend here, suffers as you do. She is sensitive to EVERYTHING....so I really sympathize!!! Plus after she came here, she got epilepsy, so going through all the meds had her really messed up. She is allergic to most of them....so I can only imagine how you are doing. One year of dizziness, eh? Hmmmm...maybe I am sensitive too, because I am always holding on to walls from light headedness. (Dr.s find nothing wrong.)

Is your house safe? Are you going to have to be evacuated? I really am praying very hard for you and the areas effected. This time period really STINKS!!!!!!

MariaRegina

Thanks for your prayers. With the air conditioning on, I do feel better.

However, pray that there isn't a power shortage.

I find myself sneezing repeatedly. Ugh
