I saw in another thread that if we started a thread about chocolate, HowardDean would still participate. I'm holding her to that statement.

What is your favorite chocolate concoction? :P

Obviously this is a fellowship thread - no debates! (Suffice it to say that we know dark chocolate is better than milk chocolate and there really isn't anything else worth debating about when it comes to chocolate).

Of late my favorite chocolate dessert is a chocolate bread pudding recipe I found. Oh my gosh - talk about decadent. I love bread pudding anyway and the addition of chocolate just makes it about a zillion times better. Plus there's a little espresso in it - which actually boosts the flavor of the chocolate.

mmm mmmm mmmm :swoon: :swoon: :swoon:

I LUB chocolate that I used to buy in bulk - it was a blob of chocolate with almonds inside.
I could eat a huge bag of that at one sitting with ease!.

I don't think so - my dad used to eat left over brownies for breakfast. He often told me he was never wrong so it must be ok.

Ok, I have a recipe that is the most excellent, unbelievable, decadent chocolate desert ever made. I can't access Southern Living from work, so I have no picture to provide, but I will do that from home. I have made this many times, and it seriously always makes everyone that tries it go nuts. I am posting the recipe though.

X-Treme Chocolate Double-Nut Caramel Ladyfinger Torte

1 1⁄2 cups semisweet chocolate morsels
2 (3-ounce) packages ladyfingers
1 (13-ounce) jar hazelnut spread
20 individually wrapped caramel candies
2 1⁄3 cups whipping cream
1 1⁄2 cups chopped pecans
1⁄3 cup confectioners' sugar plus 2 tablespoons
1 (8-ounce) package cream cheese, softened
2 tablespoons crème de cacao
3 (1-ounce) semisweet chocolate baking squares
Microwave chocolate morsels on high for 90 seconds or until melted, stirring at 30 second intervals; cool 5 minutes, and set aside.
Split ladyfingers, and stand halves around edge of a 9-inch springform pan, placing rounded sides against pan; line bottom of pan with remaining halves. Reserve remaining ladyfingers for another use. Spread hazelnut spread evenly over ladyfingers on bottom of pan.
Cook caramels and 1⁄3 cup whipping cream in a medium saucepan over low heat, stirring constantly, just until melted. Stir in pecans until coated; spoon caramel mixture evenly over hazelnut spread.
Beat 1⁄3 cup confectioners' sugar and cream cheese in a medium bowl at medium speed with an electric mixer until fluffy. Add crème de cacao; beat until blended. Beat in melted morsels until blended. Beat remaining 2 cups whipping cream in a medium bowl at medium speed with an electric mixer until stiff; fold into cream cheese mixture, and spoon evenly over caramel layer in pan. Shave baking squares with a vegetable peeler evenly on top. Sprinkle evenly with 2 tablespoons confectioners' sugar. Chill 1 hour before serving.

doesn't surprise me at all that you found this in Southern Living.

Will be making for a church pot-luck! And maybe for Thanksgiving. And Christmas. Valentine's Day. Father's Day. Might make up a holiday.

Maybe someone can make it for me for Mother's Day:scratch:

I love those too.

It took me a while though - I'm not an egg fan to begin with and "loose" eggs make me nauseous (even just looking at them). So the appearance of these put me off for a while. Then I just closed my eyes until I got used to them.

Noka is some sort of expensive chocolate brand that costs about $2,080 per pound,

Knipschildt’s “La Madeline au Truffe” Its’ price is $250 for a dark chocolate - about $2600 for a pound. This chocolate with a French black truffle inside is made of 70% Valrhona cacao, which is blended into a creamy ganache with truffle oil.

What are the opinions on 'white' chocolate? yes, its not really chocolate, but it calls itself that.
Myself, I prefer my chocolate hollow(as in easter bunnies, santas).
No solid.
One can get the coolest sound if you pull a hollow bunny head off straight up. try it!
