PRAY FOR CALIFORNIA - FIRES RAGE

We are having terrible wind storms with raging fires.

I am coughing with water eyes and a stuffy nose.

Hate these santa anas.

Welcome.

Sorry, we just had a horrible gust of wind.

But in the Old Testament, God did speak in a quiet wind remember?

Has God ever spoken to you through nature?

I love going to a mountain peak and looking down, or to a river and seeing a glorious water fall. God is really specially present then.

Hi all.

Yep, just in to chat.

Feisty_Angel also lives in Cali, I believe she hates these horrible fires too. And this late in fall could mean a mud slide. :(
I hope things get better over that way.

I see God in everything He created... although I really wish He would change His mind and take the flies, and fleas and ticks and other miserable nuisances away.

I love autumn as I ride down the road looking at the mastery of the colors He painted for us to enjoy.
His touch is a such a marvel.
I love autumn. :sigh:

Hi Thekla.
I'll add Asian Lady bugs to that list. The ones that infest your home every fall and it takes forever to shopvac them all, only to have 50 more on the ceiling in half an hour...

doesn't seem to be their year, here.

we do get the occasional "stink-bug" in the house. Our cat, Ikke, tried to eat one -- last time she tried, too ^_^

Hi Thekla.

Please pray for the folks in the Canyon Country. They are being evaculated as winds in excess of 100 mph push an inferno moving in their direction.

Not only that. The road over which they must travel was recently damaged by a huge fire in the truck tunnel. Please pray that the road bed holds as it is directly over that tunnel.

I remember firestorm 2000 in Montana. Blodgett Creek, 9 Mile, and all the others. Visibility down to a quarter of a mile where I lived and you could see the smoke when you entered the super market.

I'll pray for you guys. talk about nasty with wind.

LOL Well I think it's safe to say nobody who is a candidate or become president will be able to solve the issues of the heart. :) But we vote for what we have to work with. :P

Pretty much!

And sometimes what we have to work with....doesnt work. :sigh:

I am not looking forward to the upcoming elections.
I dread it..passionately.

I just hope and pray that Hillary doesnt weasel herself in. :crossrc:

As the elections draw closer... the sicker i feel.

This will be the 1st year I didnt feel strongly about electing someone..

BUT I feel strongly about NOT letting someone get elected.
AND i remain forever conservative.

I wish we had a strong Christian leader.. who would run.
No more wishy washies.

Eh, I'm not feeling too badly about the choices we have right now in the republican party. There are a few of who are in the top according to the media and such that I'm not interested in, and I wouldn't be happy if Hillary won.

Nearly ALL spiders are poisonous. Most either do not have a potent venom, do not inject much , or cannot inject any due to the thickness or lack of curvature in human skin (compared to their fangs)

Passing this info on to my 14 yr old daughter...just for fun.

All spiders except those in the families Uloboridae and Holarchaeidae, and in the suborder Mesothelae (together about 350 species) can inject venom to protect themselves or to kill and liquefy prey. Only about 200 species, however, have bites that can pose health problems to humans.[1] Many larger species' bites may be quite painful, but will not produce lasting health concerns.

Thats what i heard.

I've heard that too. And yet I have picked them up in my bare hand.

The brown recluse is also deadly, but a high school student here in Los Angeles picked one up gently and held it in his hand until he released it into a glass jar in the Biology Lab. He was not bitten.

Some harmless looking insects can shoot poisonous invisible dart at their enemies. They will aim at your eyes. Some fuzzy caterpillars also do this. They are like those porcupines.

You are welcome!

Interesting link. So there are a few bites known?
I dont mind DLL's. They are the only spider that I least dislike.

Besides the obvious mean ones, the jumpy black ones freak me out.

I know spiders have 8 eyes.. :swoon: ewwww. And they jump facing you so they can see you... and it just gives me the willies.

Well, that makes the creep o meter go up some.

Ok... I have to say that unless someone was paying me several billion dollars... I would not pick up a recluse spider. :o
Things like that [just hearing about it] makes my antennas go wiggly.
[inside joke... ] ^_^

Invisible darts?
Are we talking in America? Cos I am going to be spraying my yard with anti bug stuff next spring..
