I don't get it at all

I have over 500 blessing points, somebody donated a ton for me. I hit that Character thing, its how you get your dress-up doll? and it shows me a 3 x 3 grid with character and two other topics. and three in each category.

Next a red reminder that I need 5 character somethings before my doll will show up in a post.

following that is a list of 6 different types of armor?

So no where do I find a 5 of anything. Furthermore when I hit the first character in the 3 x 3 grid, upper left that would be...I get a terse statement that I have 500 blessings.

How many do I need? None of this makes ANY sense. Why is there not a help section? this site is one of the deepest and most complicated to navigate. With all this, you'd think somebody would have made a help section to help people learn what this stuff is and what its for.
Its looks kinda fun, but gosh your're making a person figure it out by searching blind...I guess even a monkey could do so given enough eons. Alas I apparently am not so gifted. What gives?

There IS a help section. It's called the FAQs.

There is also a thread at the very top of the Foru.ms Characters main forum which explains it in very simple language. I'll re-post it here for you. I'll also add a pinned thread at the top of this forum (I thought there already was one??) with the same instructions.

First, you will need about 250 Blessings to create and simply dress a character. Since you already have your Blessings to spend, here's how!

STEP 1:
click on the Big Blue Button at the top of every page, the one with the cartoon girl in the yellow top. it will take you to the CF Characters Main Page.

STEP 2:
on the Main page, click on GET CHARACTER ITEMS - these are your body parts. It is the 3rd link down on the FAR LEFT column. It will take you to the Character Items page. as you scroll down, you will see 5 Shops: Body, Hair, Eyes, Eyebrows/Nose and Mouths. Which brings us to...

STEP 3:
Click on one of the Character Item shops. You MUST Get(buy) at least one item from ALL of these shops. Scroll down the list of available character Items and choose what you'd like. On the far right hand side, you will see listed the price of the item with a GET link directly below it. Click GET to purchase your items.

STEP 4:
After you have purchased ALL 5 CHARACTER ITEMS, you MUST EQUIP (dress) them. Go back to the Main Character page as in STEP 2, and click EQUIP CHARACTER ITEMS, the 4th link down. You must Equip ALL 5 Character items for your character to show up.

You will see 5 links just like in the Get Character Items page. It will show you what Items you own, and you can EQUIP them, the same way you bought them, with the EQUIP link on the far right side beside each item that you own.

STEP 5:
Back to the Main page as in STEP 2, now you can go shopping!! Click on GET ARMOR ITEMS, the center column of links. You will Get and Equip/dress your armor items (clothes) exactly the same way you did with your Character Items. In this section as well, you can GET SPECIAL ITEMS, the props your character can hold or stand beside them, or backgrounds.

Looks like you got the body down right! Now you just need some lovely clothes! Remember to EQUIP them the same way, or they'll just sit in your armoury. Luckily enough, you won't outgrow them. LOL
