This is a lady whose story I have been following for a while. I'll give it in a shortened version for those who don't have time to read her whole blog.
She is (was) pregnant with identical quadruplet girls -very rare occurence! They are Christians and refused to reduce  and are trying to carry them all - sadly, however, baby A died a few weeks ago. When twins (or in this case, quads) come from the same original zygote, a condition known as "twin to twin transfusion syndrome", or TTTS can develop. Basically the babies share the same blood vessels and such and therefore one baby can get too much of fluid or nutrients, and another not enough. Babies A and D had it with each other. The parents flew all the way across the country for a surgeon who would do surgery in utero, and it seemed to help baby D, but baby A couldn't hold on.
Everything seemed to be going well with the remaining three, but I was sad to read tonight that babies B and C now appear to be having it from baby D as well. The thought of them losing this whole pregnancy makes me want to throw up - they seem like very dear people. Please pray for them. They are almost to the viable stage, where they could take the babies if needed, but not quite. After all the sadness I've seen this week, I could really use a miracle. Needless to say, so could they. Please add them to your prayer list. Thank you.

Praying... thanks Orthosdoxa. This is truly sad :( to expect four and end up.... like that.
then again they should rest asure that they did God's will IMO.
Lord have mercy on the little ones and the parents.
God bless,

Things are going pretty badly for this poor family. She tries to sound optimistic in her blog, but what's happening is quite serious.
The dead baby, baby A, has started to break down and is now being passed. That puts the other babies at serious risk of deadly infection.
It has been determined that what is happening to the remaining babies is indeed TTTS. Most babies who get this do not survive, and it is what killed baby A. It is in the beginning stages now, and if (or, more likely, when) it gets worse, they will have to deliver early, which will leave them with very, very, very sick and premature babies. If it progresses quickly, she'll be lucky to make it to 24 weeks, which is just barely into the window of viability. I think I read once that only 10% of 24 weekers survive.
This is so unfair, and I just have to ask God why. That other lady killed little Cosmas when she had only 3 to contend with, and here these people are trying to give all 4 of theirs a chance, and a condition that only hits identical siblings might kill of them.
Do not neglect the Medders family in your prayers, please. After living through a high-risk pregnancy that was at serious risk of not making it, I know the stress, and it's like impending grief mixed with an elephant standing on your chest. These poor people. I can hardly bear it.
Please pray. Please.

Oh, and tomorrow morning she checks into the hospital for the remainder of the pregnancy. I *think* she is somewhere near the 23 week mark. Pray specifically that the TTTS will miraculously not progress, and that she can bake these little peanuts for a few more months.

She hasn't posted an update since Sunday - I hope she's ok. :( I know she's in the hospital now, but I'm pretty sure they have a laptop and that's what they've been posting from. I hope for a good update soon.

They couldn't stop what Mother Nature wanted to do, and the babies were born at 24 weeks. Babies B and D have joined their sister baby A in heaven. Only Baby C is still holding on. My heart is breaking. They did everything they could to keep those babies in the womb. I can't stop crying.

(just to clarify, she's not my friend - I never met here - but as a veteran of a high-risk multiple pregnancy, I take a high interest in it. I found her blog online) How can life ever be normal again when three of your babies die???

Well, ever since you first mentioned them, I've been praying for these babies. Baby Callie still has a long way to go, but I pray that she makes it. I just can't imagine what they must be going through right now.

Please keep praying for the one suviving quad. She has a long road ahead of her and is not out of the woods yet. She keeps dropping her oxygen saturation, and the NICU team has to work very hard to bring it back up.
Please pray for little Callie.

Amen.:crosseo: Lord, have mercy. I can't imagine the hell this couple is going through. Our experiences with NICU were very scary (as is anyone's), but it would be nothing compared to this.
My son's roomate at the hospital was a micro-preemie. He was still in hospital 9 months after he was born and had lots of major health crisis early on (including heart surgery and pneumonia), but he was finally going home the same time Benedict was. It's amazing what God can do through modern medical advancements.
