Hello everyone,
I am pretty familiar about most Bible translations, but someone asked me about the Holman Christian Standard Bible and I realized I had only even heard about it once or twice and know nothing about it.
So... what do you, the people of STR, know about this Bible translation?

I know that it has some connections with the Southern Baptist Church, and that any pronoun addressing God is always capitalized.
Aside from that, I know scant else.

I think the Southern Baptist Convention's publishing arm actually owns the thing, and uses it in the literature and pamphlets it publishes. Beyond that, your guess is as good as mine. :)

I've got a new testament of it. Haven't spent much time with it but overall quite liked it. Very similarly to the ESV in both theology and style.

Do Baptists capitalize Bread and Wine after the consecration, as the BCP does?

Overall very good read. I have enjoyed the HCSB for a few years now.

I can't help but think of my bank when I see this thread about the HCSB.
My bank is called HSBC.
:sorry: OK, so this is off-topic; think of it as a commercial break! ^_^
