You know, it's time for us to have a place of our own.
Katie's Cafe is the place to come when you start to feel the heat and need a place to cool off.
We've got unlimited hugs, warm hearts, and sympathetic ears and good shoulders to cry on, and everyone knows your name! This is the place for good, simple, wholesome fellowship, too.
PREs only please! Eveyone else, give us this space. Please! You've got pubs of your own.
Katie's Cafe is now open for business!

Hi Lamb and Ref.
I'll have a Barq's root beer and a moon pie and would someone please drop a coin in the juke box--anything by Elton John would be great!

Oh, and if a non-PRE posts here, just ignore them and wait for them to go away.
You know they will, so just ignore them.*photini wanders in wanting a glass of water and maybe a sandwich very much...but then heard this and sadly drags her feet back out the door.

Foundthelight enters, sits at the counter.
Hello Katie. Black coffee and a slice of your wonderful apple pie please.
MMMMM, sure is good coffee today.
You see in the paper that the Anglicans started their meeting today? I pray that the Holy Spirit will move them all back into the Word. You know, I believe that so long as someone has truly repented and asked Jesus to be their Lord, it really doesn't matter what denomination they profess to.
Hey, you at the Jukebox! How about some Billy Joel?

That's okay, I don't get served at Reilly's either. In fact, I usually get a good beating just for trying to order.

*photini wanders in wanting a glass of water and maybe a sandwich very much...but then heard this and sadly drags her feet back out the door. We'll be glad to give you carry out, but we really need a little space of our own sometimes. Go to Reilly's. I understand they are goint to start opening up to the general public.
Besides, you wouldn't like the food here. It's P.R.E. food.

*Lets be nice please. If this to be trully a fellowship thread, then we need to welcome folks, not shut them out. *

Lanakila, I think that Lambslove is correct here.
There is a real need to have some exclusivity in this forum for those following the RULES of the forum.
Look at this thread. It was designed to be a general fellowship thread FOR members of this forum. And there are immediately three posters obviously not Protestant from their profiles.
This happens in most of the threads here. You say "Welcome To Everyone" whereas that is not the case in the other forums where the rules ARE very strictly enforced with warnings etc when you come INSIDE the rules [I read them over VERY carefully] but when those there just dislike the post, or the question asked [within the rules for that forum]
The basic question here being, why can't we Protestants have the SAME basic protection, peace, solitude, to chat, yak, and fellowship WITH EACH OTHER ... freed from intrusions of those with seeming objections to OUR faith, OUR belief system, OUR reasons for being different?
Essentially, we are just asking for the very same administration here, as we have gotten "there"?
Is that out of line?

How were the rules broken? Don't jump on peoples' backs, they were just having some fun. Sheeesh, save the critisism for when they deserve it.

If a Catholic person came to your Church would you close the doors on them?
I agree, we all want a place where we can be free from people who think our way of religion is wrong, but they are still brothers and sisters of Christ and we should accept them with open hearts and minds. Just because we disagree with what someone does, dosn't mean we now have permission to hurt them or make them feel like outsiders. We are all children of God and we all believe in Him, no one is perfect. As long as you believe in God and love Him, well then that's good enough for me.

If they punched me in the mouth on the way through the door, tipped over the communion table and told us it wasn't valid because it is not blessed by a catholic priest, and kept interupting the pastor to tell everyone what the Catholic teaching on the matter is, then yes, I would close the door on them.
When they can manage to start treating us and our threads with respect, we will gladly open the doors wide and serve them with loving hearts.
And thanks emmajane, but I don't want to fight you in private or anywhere else.

Frankly, if they stood outside the doors, telling members going in to worship that they were WRONG and the Pope was the vicar and our service was incorrect, and we needed to have communion with every service...and on and on, we might suggest that our church was NOT where they should be hanging, and the church down the street where they did all the things the new person wanted done is where they should attend.
When in Rome....
That sort of thing. Not going into another church with the express purpose of convincing that church that another church was the right way to salvation, and what THEY were doing in that church was less than.
Am I the only one that sees things this way?

Do not start a thread based on this decision, it will be considered a violation of the rules.
