My brother John is slowly spirally down with his alcoholism. He is not saved and is getting a divorce. This makes him want to drink even more and he already crashed his motorcycle 2 times and broke his ribs and nose. I already know that Jesus has the power to deliver him from any and all addictions, but please pray that John come to the Lord and his life be spared from the effects of alcoholism. :prayer:

Father, deliver this young man from this addiction. In the same way that the prodigal son came to himself and said "Let me return to my Father and be a servant in His house." May this young man come to You. Even now while he is still afar off may you see him and draw him. Open his eyes to the truth. Father, grant him repentance as it says in Your word in 2 Tim. 2: 25 that he may escape the snare of the devil.
In Jesus Name :amen:

My brother John is slowly spirally down with his alcoholism.
I am so sorry, SFC. My ex is an alcoholic, and despite everything I could do, I could not help him. I tried for 4 years, when my d was very small, but in the end nothing worked, and my d and I were in danger. He left home 10 years ago, and now is living a very unpleasant life, with many health problems, and again we cannot save him from any of this.
I really feel for you. You are doing so well in recognising this problem, and not denying it, or making excuses for him. His only chance is if everyone around him can do the same. My ex did not have this; his parents still take him out for lunch and buy him beer with his meal, and serve him wine at their home. They tell him, if you don't sort yourself out it will be too late. It was too late ten years ago, for him.
Praying for you. :crossrc:

Lord, please lift this addiction off this man. When we have addictions Lord, we love them. We cannot see you for the addiction. Lord, lift the shutters off this man's eyes, open his mind and unblock his heart. May he recover fully and find a life in you Lord. May he go on to be a testimony to you. Amen.

I've had family members struggle with alcoholism... Please know John, and the rest of his family and friends are in my prayers! May the Lord open John's eyes to the love and compassion our Lord has for him, and may He deliver him from the evil of this addiction! :prayer:
