This is for all your complaints, but you must creatively replace all names and incidents to protect all other parties from offense.
Example. Say I wanted to say,
"I'm mad at anna bananna for deleting my posts and ruining my nails."
You would say:
Oh the horrors, I never been so humiliated in all my life Barbiedoll (hopefull not someones real logon) just deleted my television set and ruined my potatoes in the process.
Okays like you know the game
maybe I can learn from the experts what real Kvetching sounds like.... Try and make the substitutes funny.

I honestly bought the same game in three different stores and they all came with three different sets of directions....Now my friends who shop at Walmart wont let me play unless I use the wall mart directions and the same with those who shop elsewhere....I have to take all three game boxes with me wherever I go just to make sure we have the right game rules .....I want to write to the game's owner and give him a piece of mind mind:P

I know!! my dad can't have corn, sulfites, sulfates or salicylites.
They will be persuing his disability as well as attempting to get his diagnosis. we're thinking something akin to gulf war syndrome or lupus-like. We can't pin anything down to one thing, and now paper is a major irratant!
He can't even go in a grocery store now that has a bakery. If he smells it, it causes a reaction with his neuropathy and other issues...
Not to mention corn being in gasoline, mom has to gas up the vehicles back home.. it's crazy!
As far as tortillas.. I have a workable recipe that my mom uses if you wanna try giving it a go.
Instead of using xanthan gum which is corn based, use the same amount of Guar Gum and you will have the same results.
Quick Tortillas
1 cup GF brown rice flour 1/2 cup tapioca starch
1/2 cup sweet rice flour 1/2 tsp salt
1 1/2 cups water * 1/4 cup oil *
1 tsp guar gum or Xanthan gum
* You can omit the oil and use 1 3/4 cups of water. Make sure to oil the skillet so it will come off.
Mix the dry ingredients together with a wire whip. Add the oil and water. Mix. Preheat griddle or electric skillet to about 350˚ - 400˚ F.
On a skillet: For large tortillas, use a 1/2 cup measuring cup, which makes a 6 1/2" round tortilla. Turn over using a large spatula. Cook until done. You can cover them with a towel to make them softer.
Place refried beans, beans, lettuce, etc. or put margarine & honey, etc. on these tortillas to make a fold over burrito or use as other meals, snacks, or bread.
Hope that helps!
I haven't made them myself since I am still hunting beans I can use to make tortillas.. but these would be great with cheddar for quesadillas!
While I am thinking about it, Bananna, can you have Agave Nectar or Honey?

I use potato starch which I can have.
I think I'll try some tamale's with that mix and some enchaladas. I tend to make casserols so I don't have to make individual totillas so much, but those sound work able. I used rice meal instead of corn meal for chili releno or something.

That sounds interesting. If you haven't already - check local asian and indian markets for the other grains.
Mom made these and they were gone before I got home to really try them the time she made them... she promises once you make a couple that you can make a ton and they come out about the same... "It's like making thin pancakes"
There is a rice "grits" out there, we found it here in Germany that is an equivelant to corn grits, and "workable" towards polenta, grits or "cous cous". it is just all in how you flavor it and water it...
I'll have to raid the pantry though for name and where we got it...

i Dunno sis, but you can be greatful you have a turnip, even if its juice will only fill an armpit. I remember my mother used to tell me that there were children in China who had no turnips. I told her to send them mine and got spanked for it lol. I have learned though that whether my produce is large or small, i can be greatful for a thimble of juice

Hubby's mom tell me a story about hubby and the peas. She said there were starving kids in Africa and he got all excited and asked if he could ship his peas to them... LOL.
My grandparents and my mom were a bit different in their strategy. They would not make us eat foods. They just din't give us anything else till it was gone. Especially desert. Usually mom would fix us what we liked and then fix herself a big plate of something we could not have... like broccoli, spinach, artichoke and pretty soon our curiosity got the better of us. Everything mom ate must taste better especially since she did not want to share.
Only thing is that it didn't ever convince the rabbit to eat liver or spinach. She would puke it all up.
I'm snoozin at the key board so I'm off. Shalom, chow, byebye now, later,

Well my quote isn't wanting to work.. :P
Bananna, I got a little sleep. It took until about 6.30 to roll around. I had tried reading, watching tv, being online so I could be productive looking for recipes/substitutions and everything else..
I was really nauseous last night which was also making it hard to keep it together. I dunno if it's just morning sickness or the fact I took my vitamins as late as I did, or both combined..
I sipped at tea and lemonaide most of the night since water can "throw me" sometimes.
DH had woken up and was getting ready for work by the end of it, so I helped make his lunch (usually I am zonked out still, but he wants to help me get on a normal schedule so since I was already up, I stayed up..).
I think I slept about 5 hours, which is when I heard them slamming the downstairs foyer door - not sure why... but I'm in PJs so I wasn't going to go down and say "HEY!"
At least they stopped after the third time.
I do feel better though!
