View Full Version : Proverbs Letter

Last night, I sat down to do some writing. As I got all my things out at my desk I began to get the urge to read in Proverbs. I first ignored it because I had some thoughts I wanted to write down before I forgot them. Again, I was urged to read in Proverbs. I put that aside and began to do some writing. My pencil broke completely in half. This time Proverbs came at me louder! I figured now, I had better read in Proverbs before my paper catches on fire!

As I began, I was told to read chapters 1 through 9. Also, to read it from period to period and not from verse to verse. I didn't understand why until I was done. Proverbs 1- 9 is a letter from the Lord directly to his elect children, his Bride. In this letter, the Lord tells his elect children that they should seek much wisdom and knowledge. That they should follow all his commandments which is a lamp and his laws which are a light. In 4:5-10, the Lord tell us not to forsake her/the True Church. If we embrace the True Church, she will promote and honour us with an ornament of grace and a crown of glory.
The Lord also warns his children of the strange woman who's ways are of death. This is any other doctrine other than what the Lord has put forth.

2:16-19
16: To deliver thee from the strange woman, even from the stranger which flattereth with her words;
17: Which forsaketh the guide of her youth, and forgetteth the covenant of her God.
18: For her house inclineth unto death, and her paths unto the dead.
19: None that go unto her return again, neither take they hold of the paths of life.
6:24, To keep thee from the evil woman, from the flattery of the tongue of a strange woman.
6:32:But whoso committeth adultery with a woman lacketh understanding: he that doeth it destroyeth his own soul.
7:5,26-27 5. That they may keep thee from the strange woman, from the stranger which flattereth with her words. 26:For she hath cast down many wounded: yea, many strong men have been slain by her.
27: Her house is the way to hell, going down to the chambers of death.

Though these verses, with a carnal understanding, mean also that his children are not to be taken in by adultery with other women, spiritually we are not to commit adulterous actions with other women/churches or doctrines. This is a betrayal unto the Lord and his True Word. For He is a Jealous God and we are to have no other gods/idols or doctrines before him. His children are to walk in the light that he has given and no other.
Read Proverbs 1-9 from period to period and not verse to verse. Then let me know what you think of the Lord's letter to his children.

Much love in Christ,
Lisabeth

Much love in Christ,
Lisabeth I wonder how many Christians here understand the importance of those words. Will any of them make the connection with the Harlot in Revelations before I mention it here?

Hi, I didn't read proverbs tonight, but do appreciate your post. I never thought of it in a spiritual sense so do appreciate your bringing that forth.

blessings.

@ Lizabeth : Thanks for sharing ! It is 1:53 AM. So I am not going to read them to-night, (unless that was what was in your post); but I will.

@ Michael, That was the first thing I thought of as I was reading the original post before I got to yours. Unless I am mistaken, however, we place a different interpretation on the meaning of the "Harlot". I have found 2 coded messages, (similar to the fallen angels code), to support mine. I would be interested in hearing yours; but I want a full detailed explanation, similar to what I gave you re the "Fallen Angels Code". (by pm if you so choose, - otherwise openly).

Therefore it is imperative to know what the true "doctrine of Christ" is so that you can be faithful to it, and not blindly be following "another Jesus".
(2 John 9-11, 2 Cor. 11:3-4).

You become a member of Christ by the baptism in His Spirit, yet today many "churches" disagree with this.
(1 Cor. 12:13, Acts 1:14-18, 10:44-46, 2:4, 33, 39)

People without understanding cannot discern beyond the fact that they "preach Jesus".

Proverbs... great stuff and definitely of God! If you are seeking wisdom, you'll need to be reading and re-reading these scriptures.

His,
Rev J

ps: don't you just love it when God tells you where to go in the Scriptures?!

We are to live by the "true testimony" of Christ Jesus.

Excellent Lisabeth! Thank you for sharing this with us.

I have not read Proverbs for awhile now, and what you have brought out is so true! It IS a letter to the overcomers. I'm going to keep reading through it. It's like a blueprint for the end of days when the overcomers are called to 'come out of her My people'.

My husband and I often talk about what the Lord requires for an overcomer, and here it is condensed in nine chapters... can't wait to share it with him tomorrow, and to share it with the bible study girls.

Paul said to the Corinthians that the testimony of Christ was confirmed in them so they were fully enriched in all utterance & knowledge and lack no gift (1 Cor. 1:4-7), yet many today preach that only some Christians get x, y or z.
But if you have Jesus Christ inside you have his mind, power and other attributes, you are a son of God, like the firstfruits, in fact he says such people “do greater works” than he did (John 14:12).
It is precisely because of this that there has to be limitation & order when these people meet, as detailed in 1 Cor. 14, but you will find that very few churches follow these “commandments of The Lord”.
Either these things are limited to special meetings or “Holy Spirit weekends” for those that like or feel the need for “that sort of thing”, or it’s all mixed up with emotion and wrong ideas as people think they are “limiting God” by sticking to rules, it is argued that Paul had to keep a tight reign on the Corinthians. The result is that the way of truth is evil spoken of.
