Good morning everyone!

A wife was making a breakfast of fried eggs for her husband.Suddenly, her husband burst into the kitchen. 'Careful,' he said, 'CAREFUL! Put in some more butter! Oh my gosh! You're cooking too many at once. TOO MANY! Turn them! TURN THEM NOW! We need more butter. Oh my gosh! WHERE are we going to get MORE BUTTER? They're going to STICK! Careful.
CAREFUL! I said be CAREFUL! You NEVER listen to me when you're cooking! Never! Turn them! Hurry up! Are you CRAZY? Have you LOST your mind? Don't forget to salt them. You know you always forget to salt them. Use the salt! USE THE SALT! THE SALT!'

The wife stared at him. 'What in the world is wrong with you? You think I don't know how to fry a couple of eggs?' The husband calmly replied, 'I just wanted to show you what it feels like when I'm driving.'

Preserving Our Assurance
1 John 5:10-13 (http://msg1svc.net/ccokp/87559/87/459066/19409/0/H/rmcw.html)
Satan will use any device to gnaw away at a believer's faith. He knows that if he can get us to doubt our salvation, we are less likely to serve God with our whole heart. But if we understand his methods, we can be vigilant and avoid his traps.

Unconfessed sin. Satan tempts us to sin, and then if we yield, he whispers, "You can't be saved because you are doing wrong." The harassment cycle continues until we confess the sin and claim God's promise that those who receive Christ are saved (1 John 5:12).

Ignorance of God's Word. If a believer isn't well grounded scripturally, he can easily be fooled by false teaching. For example, it's not uncommon to hear that we can never be certain of redemption, or that salvation can be lost. The arguments for both ideas may sound persuasive, but such false doctrines simply do not withstand biblical scrutiny. That's why it is essential to study the Word.

Reliance on emotion. Satan is lord over the culture, which encourages us to trust in our feelings for guidance. When we operate under that kind of thinking, a day's ups and downs will affect whether or not we "feel" saved. Tragedy and pain might bring doubt, while blessing and good times create feelings of confidence. Genuine assurance, however, is built on faith in the Lord and the promises found in His Word.

The Enemy is already preparing his next attack. Trust in God and His Word. And get to know Satan's tactics so you can preserve your assurance that the Lord has saved you.

Good Morning free2be

i've had a good morning and an answer to prayer which was amazing
I was sitting on a chair by my table and it broke and told Dad I need to buy 3 Kitchen Chairs. So I went to the local Chriistian community Shop, that's where I go most weekday mornings, and told my friends I needed 3 chairs, this was about 9:15 am. At 11:am someone I know came in the shop and said they had in their van two kitchen chairs and 1 at home, did any one need them. Immediately my friends said I did, I looked at the chairs and they were exactly what I needed.

I Praise God that He heard and answered the prayers of my heart, even though I did not verbalise this.:amen:

*Good Morning* (http://www.crosswalkmail.com/nzxdohon_qzaemnrm.html)

When I first started college, the Dean came in and said "Good Morning" to all of us. When we echoed back to him, he responded "Ah, you're Freshmen." He explained.

"When you walk in and say good morning, and they say good morning back, they're Freshmen. When they put their newspapers down and open their books, they're Sophomores. When they look up so they can see the who's talking over the tops of the newspapers, they're juniors. And when they put their feet up on the desks and keep reading, they're seniors. "And when you walk in and say good morning, and they write it down, they're graduate students."

*How High Is It?* (http://www.crosswalkmail.com/tkxvejju_caleuoiu.html)

An Engineering Student, a Physics Student, and a Mathematics student were each given $150 dollars and were told to use that money to find out exactly how tall a particular hotel was.

All three ran off, extremely keen on how to do this. The physics student went out, purchased some stopwatches, a number of ball bearings, a calculator, and some friends. He had them all time the drop of ball bearings from the roof, and he then figured out the height from the time it took for the bearings to accelerate from rest until they impacted with the sidewalk.

The math student waited until the sun was going down, then she took out her protractor, plumb line, measuring tape, and scratch pad, measured the length of the shadow, found the angle the buildings roof made from the ground, and used trigonometry to figure out the height of the building.

Of course, with all that was involved in getting this experiment done, they were up plenty late studying for other courses' exams. These two students bumped into the engineering student the next day, who looked quite refreshed. When asked what he did to find the height of the building he replied: "Well, I walked up to the bell hop, gave him 10 bucks, asked him how tall the hotel was, and went inside for supper!"

*You know you're growing old when...* (http://www.crosswalkmail.com/rrmsnlll_jcspgjwg.html)

You know you're growing old when..

You've come to the annoying realization that your parents were right about almost everything.

The bag boy volunteers to help load groceries into your car-in the "ten items or less" lane.

You've stopped supporting your children, and started supporting your parents.

You've found yourself discussing the weather.

You remember your kid's names, just not always the right one.

You have nightmares about forgetting to move the garbage cans to the street for the garbage collector.

Your high school yearbook is now home to three different species of mold.

You buy "age-defying" makeup and "anti-wrinkle" creams and believe they work.

You've realized that all those geeky people in Bermuda shorts walking around Disney World include you.

You recognize Led Zeppelin songs that have been turned into elevator Muzak.

You've had three opportunities to buy every single Disney Animated Classic-"for the last time in a generation"

Wal-Mart and Target seem to share your fashion sense.

The only way you know to stop a virtual pet from beeping involves the patio and a sledgehammer.

You can pack two suits, Five shirts, five ties, five pairs of underwear, five pairs of socks, a pair of shoes, and half of your bathroom into a carry-on bag-in less than five minutes.

You know what Earth Shoes are.

You think if you hear "Stairway to Heaven" one more time your head will explode.

Your weight-lifting program seems to have no effect on your muscles, but the veins on the backs of your hands are bulking up quite nicely.

^_^

A disappointed soft drink salesman returned from his Middle East assignment. His boss asked, "Why weren't you successful with the Arabs?"

The salesman explained, "When I got posted in the Middle East, I was very sure to make a good sales pitch as our product was virtually unknown there. I didn't know to speak Arabic, so I planned to convey the message through 3 posters. My first poster was a man crawling through the hot desert sand, totally exhausted and panting. Second, the man is drinking our soft drink and third, our man is now totally refreshed. Then these posters were pasted all over the place"

"That should have worked," said the boss.

The salesman replied, "Well, not only did I not speak Arabic but I didn't realize that Arabs read from right to left."

My mob are all doing well - son is in a school play tonight, so we all have to go and watch.
Is half term next week, so it will be nice to spend a bit of time withthem!

Is your little one still enjoying school? Do you have a holiday soon - she must be getting quite tired!

My little one loves school! And it's nice 'cause she's actually talking about it now...very different from when she first started...I was feeling deprived! ^_^ We just had our Thanksgiving long weekend so she had a bit of a break...but she's only going every second day so it's not too hard on her. Funny tho, I thought when she started school I'd have loads of time but it seems I have even less! :swoon:

I'm getting used to the earthquakes as long as they stay tiny.

A lot of people here are more freaked out about tornadoes than earthquakes. I don't get it. I say, you just go underground for a tornado, you can get out of it ... but there's no place to go "away" when you're in an earthquake.

I have to vehemently disagree, but in a very silly way. LOL, if you ever visited Yuma from October to April, you would see about 75% of the license plates are from Canada. I have never seen anything like it LOL. I don't remember seeing nearly as many when we were in Cali.

Is it the desert y'all like? Soooooo many RVs. hehe

Oh, and I wanted to add: I never realized that so many people lived in Saskatchewan :P

As you can see by the map in the link, we are tucked down in the southernmost corner of the country between California and Mexico.

It's hot down here. The temperatures in that wikipedia article don't do the temps down here justice. It's late October, and it was 91 yesterday.

One of our trees was uprooted yesterday (could be more till I can look outside when the sun comes up).
Looks out window & sees no fires burning nearby... so we're ok here for now. There was a fire that started nearby late yesterday aft. and it was blowing heavy smoke at our house, but the firemen were out there asap & put it out praise God.

SCARY stuff. The winds are horrible - it's so loud. :( :|

Oh dear ... I pray they're put out today & you guys are safe. The fire dept.'s are doing a great job!!
We live on a raised hill and from the sounds of our winds w/ an uprooted tree (that was BEFORE the winds even got heavier overnite), I'd say we're in the upper 70mph's or higher.

It's downright scary to hear it. Our friends live in Irvine, but so far the fire isn't near them.

I know the malibu fire is said to be due to downed powerlines. how nasty & horrible.
I always feel sick about the animals that are harmed and put into such stress w/ fires. I hate it.

*Change Help* (http://www.crosswalkmail.com/bekvrmve_gtdjseqs.html)

A kind-hearted motorist saw a man struggling to change a tire alongside the highway, and pulled over to see whether he could help. The man had a very red face, and a dark smear across it where he'd wiped off sweat with dirty hands. His tie was undone and his shirt collar askew, and it was clear he had also wiped his hands on his once-white shirt. Close to him stood an immaculately neat woman who was speaking in quick, agitated tones.

"Hello, there," said the motorist. "Say, I've changed a lot of tires. Maybe I can help here."

"You sure can," the man with the flat tire replied wearily. "My wife is an expert, too. If you will just do all the arguing with her about how this tire ought to be changed, I can concentrate on the dirty work and get the job done."

  ^_^

thanks sweety, we almost lost another tree, but we roped it up and hope that will keep it from falling over.

Our nabor lost his huge pine (and what bugs me is it's a tree that was important to privacy since it blocked alot between our 2 houses. ugh. I hate that.

But compared to people losing homes & business to fire, I"ll take the loss of some privacy.
I can't believe this is all the way to AZ. it's terrible here. :(

thank you for asking Free & Nikki  -- It's still pitch black outside so I'm waiting till I can see to know what all is bad... I saw a plume of smoke lit up by the brightness of fire far away... but my husband said that's WAY far away (not comforting tho seeing as the wind is still blowing like a tornado out there.).
THey said now it's 500,000 evacuated in the state.

Thanks for asking, and please pray for these people... so many have lost homes and businesses and so many are under the threat of fire which is so scary.

You guys are so sweet. God richly bless you!!

I would love for Jimfromohio to come over here and talk Bruins and Red Sox with me. I wanted to respond in the other thread, but it's closed. I grew up outside of Boston, also, and yes, even played hockey. In New England, everyone plays hockey at some point LOL. I'm an O'Reilly fan, myself. Loved how much fun he had with the game. I still have his jersey.

My husband and I did most of our dating at Fenway Park. This was back when bleacher seats were about $7 and you could still get them. We would take the T in and go to the game, then go to this dive bar near Faneuil Hall that had $1 drafts. We could spend the whole day in town and spend about $25. Ahhhhh I miss those days.

My daughters get the biggest kick out of all my husband's pictures of him in his goalie gear. He was a star for his high school, but considering how tiny his town was, that doesn't say much ;) But hockey was to MA high schools back then what football is to Texas high schools. Dating the captain of the hockey team was waaayyy cooler than dating the captain of the football team.

My high school boyfriend was captain of Malden Catholic's hockey team ;) :P

You will be happy to know that we didn't have to evacuate the dog kennel after all.  Praise God. The fire was really close to them today, just the other side of the freeway but the winds changed and the kennel was saved.

I feel kind of bad rejoicing over this when so many other people are loosing their homes etc. :(

I grew up in Duxbury and attended Duxbury High School. Duxbury is well-known for "soccer". I was a soccer player during my high school days (all 4 years).

I used to go all of the pro games (except Patriots). Red Sox at Fenway Park, Bruins and Celtics at the old Boston Garden (torned down). I have not lived in MA since 1978 but visited my family as much as I can.

I was not a good skater so I was not really good at ice hockey. However, street hockey, I was one of the highest scorers. :D Everyone must play hockey otherwise you will be alone doing nothing. New England is like Canada. Hockey is a big thing.

I used to date a girl from my high school who played on girls ice hockey team. She was actually a good hockey player.

That's enough for now... I didn't really notice this "fellowship" forum until today.

I am glad that I found it.

Blah, blah, blah, Jim! You didn't have a pitcher who hit a home run - wasn't that in the world series? Don Gulett (sp?)? :P

LOL you aren't kidding. Seriously, when my husband and his shop go to do anything, they put extreme before it. Heck, the last mass unit PT game they played was Extreme Frisbee. Yes....extreme frisbee. They pretty much played it like a football game. My husband left at 4:30 am for PT saying he was going to play frisbee, and he came home covered in dirt and bruises.
