Check out this article called Christianity Finds a Fulcrum in Asia (http://www.atimes.com/atimes/China/IH07Ad03.html). The author puts forth a number of stunning claims and predictions, including . . .
10,000 Chinese become Christians every day.
Chinese may comprise the world’s largest concentration of Christians by 2050.
China feels an enormous spiritual hunger caused in large measure by its new-found prosperity.
The massive migration of Chinese from the countryside to the large cities contributes to their openness to the gospel.
There are now more than 100 million Christians. That number could double by 2050.
Islam will have no answer when China Christians take the gospel “back to Jerusalem.”
The house church movement is the fastest growing part of the church in China.
Chinese Christians, having suffered enormous persecution, evangelize with passionate fervor.
Freedom of worship is the first precondition for democracy.
China’s house churches may become the leaven of democracy.
Time will tell about the accuracy of these predictions, but no one can deny that God is up to something big in China. One year from now the Summer Olympics will be underway in Beijing and the eyes of the world will be on China as never before. Would you join me in praying for the spread of the gospel in China, for the strengthening of the Chinese churches, and for those who are giving themselves to take the Good News to the world’s largest nation?

My husband is reading two books about China now. The Heavely Man, about brother Yun and Back To Jerusalem. The amazing thing is that while Christianity in the west is dying it is growing rapidly in China. Another point is that people who become Christians in China are much more commited since they are willing to risk imprisonment, torture, or death for their religion.

I disagree with the subject thread. Many 'House Churches' in China are not house churches by any definition we would use.
There are 'house churches' in China that
1. Meet in a special purpose church building and not a house.
2. Have a professional pastor.
3. Have a sermon and IC 'liturgy' without I Cor. 14:26 type mutual participation.
I found this out while attending a home meeting where a Chinese house church pastor was visiting. He told about preaching several services on Sunday, to huge crowds, in a part of China that had a lot of Christians and not much persecution from the government. So I asked him why he described this as a 'house church' and asked him about I Corinthians 14:26. His answer focused on the issue of tongues, rather than mutual participation. I don't think he was aware of what 'house church' meant to me.
He explained that 'house church' means it is not a government sanctioned church, the Three Self Church.
Another Chinese person confirmed this for me as well.
So when you hear about Chinese house churches, some of them are house churches, but some of them are not what we would call a house church.

I know I've heard a bit about house churches in China for a few years and a lot were in houses, and everyone you hear of is on fire! I think that says something in itself. It really sounds like the church in Acts!

Anyone knows if there is an in-depth study of the China House Church Monement?
We may all learn a lot from such a study,

The program had a guest who went to china
to teach the Chinese believers.
After his teaching session he learn a few things about Chinese believers from a short sister that he spoke to.
First here is the testimony of the short Chinese sister:
After she was saved she was waiting on God to hear His voice and obey. For 5 years God never commanded her to do anything.
("I say to you, the Son can do nothing of Himself, but what He sees the Father do; for whatever He does, the Son also does in like manner.")
After the 5 years the Lord spoke to her one day to pray for a specific woman's migraine headache, and she was healed. Then He spoke to her to pray for a boy's broken finger, it was instantly healed and straightened before them. Then He said to her that someone had just died in the hospital and she should pray for him. When she arrived at the room the man's head was covered for he was dead, the heart monitor wasn't disconnected from him and was showing the signal of a dead heart. She blinded the spirit of death and called him to life in the name of Jesus. After 5 minutes the heart monitor started showing heart movement, the heart started beating and a few more minutes later he was walking in the hospital.
-She said that if someone is sick they will not pray for him but seek the Lord for him and they will only pray if the Lord specifically tells them.
-She said that all the believers in the front row in his meeting had raised people from the dead and that was normal in china.
-The emphasis was on relationship with God and prayer and not the miracles.
-They pray 5 hours/day and then go to work.
(yes they all have families & responsibilities)
-First 2 hours is out loud intersession for the nation, the unbelievers,..etc.
-other 3 hours on their knees silent in His presence seeking to hear his voice.
-Then they go to work obeying what they heard in prayer.
-If we could hear their testimonies, we here in the west could easily label many of them as apostles, prophets.. etc.
-He realised that they were living the book of acts and we here just read it.
-He realised that he should be receiving teaching from them and not the opposite and that he was standing among spiritual giants that save thousands yet they were so humble and hungry to learn more about Jesus .
Now i know why the underground church in china grows so fast, scaring the communist government.
I thing the name of the program was 'From the river' but I'm not sure, maybe I'm wrong
Anyway, the above should teach us some things here in the west.
In another program a Chinese brother was interviewed and he said that:
House churches in china do not know about tithing but,
they collect money so that in specific days organise feasts inviting all the poor and in need. They feed them
for free, pray for them and lead them to salvation.
Well, that was all that i remember .
I tried to be as accurate as possible in what i heard.

That is good, and right.
The fastest growing 'house churches' in china (and the fastest growing church in the world)
is the church of the silent lips.
These are simply and really house churches - they won't become a denomination because they know that denominations CANNOT DO THE GOSPEL NOR LIVE IT. (this is integral to Scripture and they are taught the truth, not doctrine of men nor of demons)
......
quote question above :

yes there is in depth study and the reason for the fastest growing church in china in Yahweh's Grace
in the books by watchman nee
..
(just avoid with great caution the reckless twistings of another who is called witness lee - he took watchman nee's work and perverted it to his own ends or satan's and used a publishing house to help him called living stream, which therefore avoid with Wisdom)
