Have you guys ever heard of this Monk? He is a Jew that converted to the Orthodox Church. I found this video of him and found it to be very interesting. I read that he has been banned in some places for his dancing and preaching in the streets.

I don't know what to say about that. ..the song was definitely way to Protestant...

They have links to legit EO Churches on their website...the woman is a presbytera, and it says something about Bishop Lazar from the OCA...go figure..

Very charismatic person...not like any monk I have seen..but does his thing.

Hi, Everyone.

"Brother" Nathanael is not a monk.

When he became Orthodox, he was received in the OCA. Later, he left the Church to join one orthoduck group - HOCNA, if I'm not mistaken - and was "rebaptized" there.

Then he had a fight with the HOCNA "bishop" Gregory George, and left that group and became a "schema monk" on his own.

Please. He was first Orthodox, then schismatic, then he jumped off the deep end. Of course, if he repents, he may be a layman in a canonical Church.

What jurisdiction does she fall under?
By looking at her videos she has a link on them www.descentoftheholyspirit.org/ and I found it listed on the Jerusalem Patriarchate in America website http://jerusalempatriarchate.org/. So I am guessing that is the jurisdiction she falls under.

No wonder. He claims that the media is Jew-controlled and he is a Jewish convert to Orthodoxy. Oh well.

I think his blog will turn more people away from Orthodoxy than toward it. It's a shame.

Like we've noted - he's not Orthodox. He was Orthodox, then schismatic, then he aposticized from even that. Now he is just an apostate. Like I said - he may repent and be a layman in a canonical Orthodox Church.

I knew he was not right. BUT I was looking through the site to which the presbytera who was interviewing him was from...and there was something about an OCA Bishop, so I assumed she was Canonical making him legit.

But in looking now I see it says it is under the Jerusalem Pat...is there a reason a Canonical Church would condone him?
