...only after another beat my 7 y/o son. It wasn't pretty but I had to do it ya know?

I was on vacation for the past couple days, and we were in the Altoona area visiting DelGrosso Park (the spaghetti sauce people). It was Italian food festival.

So I was standing there minding my own business and there comes these three nuns. They were the real deal: long black habits with the white trim, really long rosaries tucked into the robes. Older ladies all smiley and happy, hiding their secret nefarious other lives.

It was at a squirtgun water stand, where ya race each other squirtin' water at the center of the wheel to get your character (in this case Spongebob and Patrick dolls) to the top. My youngest decided he wanted a Patrick and we stepped up the same time the three nuns did. Yup it was the first round and the sister won her Spongebob. No mercy on the 7 y/o boy. (My oldest son off to the side remarked to wife when seeing the nuns kneeling to better aim "That is just so wrong") So she won her Spongebob. So my youngest said "Dad, just win me a Patrick", so I stepped up and decimated the sisters...how do I sleep at night, eh?:D

Get out - all my dad's folks are from York. I love Gettysburg - used it as a day trip when I had a shop in VA which I closed on Tues/Weds!

btw, Altoona had the biggest Christian Family Bookstore located in a small raised ranch house. All rooms stuffed full of books, floor to ceiling - even the attic and basement! What a place!

About beating the sisters? My Catholic friends would have had you hit their knuckles with rulers and then shoot for prizes! LOL!

I was surprised, ya don't see a lot of nuns wearing habits these days. They were older but they wanted their Spongebobs, bet it was for some kids at the school or something.

And they were something special, they didn't have to pay to play, and it was $2 a game, maybe visiting or something?

OK, I want to get this straight.

You took on a couple of nuns, dressed in habits and then beat them like the old ladies they were? You truly have no shame, do you?

LOL!!! I am reading this and I am spewing coke into my keyboard. I attended Catholic schools including college and the nun story is just sooooooooo familiar. When I was in high school we use to beat the nuns all the time in the school bazaars and other activities.
Man, this brings back memories. Those nuns where as competitive as any pro sport player.^_^^_^^_^^_^:clap:
