Because Tamara said I was just wasting my time, I thought I would make her statement even more accurate. Here it is. The Complete Waste of Time Thread. Need to kill some time? Bored waiting for something useful to happen? Or do you just have something completely nonsensical to get off your chest? Well, this is the thread for you. Enjoy completely wasting your time. ;)
(And yes, Tamara, I know I took you out of context. But for the purpose of this particular waste of time, it is all in good fun. ^_^ )

So, this then is the Seinfeld thread of these forums? A Thread about nothing?

Is there a problem with that?

A French Jew, Marceau escaped deportation to a Nazi death camp during World War II, unlike his father who died in Auschwitz. Marceau worked with the French Resistance to protect Jewish children, and later used the memories of his own life to feed his art.
With his brother Alain, Marceau became active in the French Resistance, altering children's identity cards by changing birth dates to trick the Nazis into thinking they were too young to be deported. Because he spoke English, he was recruited to be a liaison officer with Gen. George S. Patton's army.
His father was sent to the Auschwitz concentration camp in 1944. I wonder if La Vita è bella drew from his story. I guess it was a common situation.

This thread is a fellowship thread without a topic. Unless wasting time is considered a topic. :D
'Tis a shame to hear about Marcel Marceau's passing. :(

No zoo nearby, so maybe I'll go to the aquarium later. Probably won't, though.

Nice. I don't know where the nearest zoo is, but the aquarium I live near is fairly well known. Monterey Bay Aquarium (http://www.montereybayaquarium.org/).

Hi! Can I join you? I love wasting time when I should be doing something more productive.
Speaking of zoos, has anyone been to the San Diego zoo? We went last year. I was astounded. I saw a little antelope about 8 inches tall - complete with little bitty hooves. After seeing amazing more amazing animals, we rode the gondola over the zoo and a gorilla stuck its butt up at us. Never have I been to a more interesting zoo.
Marcel Marceau was a genius. I saw him a couple of times in London. He could tell entire stories with his body. He made the audience feel loved and appreciated, and good to be alive. He brought joy to the world with his quiet, but brilliant art. Not once during his performances did he say a word....
Well, I guess I've wasted enough time for right now. Hope everyone is having a great day!!!

I haven't been to the San Diego Zoo in years.
I'm sitting on hold, waiting for a conference call to start. The hold music is so loud, I have to keep the phone away from my ear a bit.

This morning, I had a banana for breakfast with some buttered toast and a cup of coffee. The bread was brown, and the butter was salted.
No wait. I distinctly remember nibbling on some cashew nuts, then I had the banana, toast and coffee. I have my coffee strong, white with 2 sugars.
I had another banana at morning tea, and another cup of coffee. I used a smaller cup than the one I had at breakfast.
At lunch I had a hamburger with the lot and another cup of coffee, which was bought for me. A couple of hours later, I was working really hard and had a chiko roll and a can of Coke which I bought myself. I remember opening the fridge door and grabbing a can, and then thought, "I feel like a chiko roll". So I ordered a chiko roll, and told the store owner I would put the can back in the fridge whilst my chiko roll cooked, so that it wouldn't go warm. He said, "okay" and I put it back in the fridge. Whilst it was cooking, I remember paying for the items, and the store owner asked me did I still want the drink? I said "yes".
At dinner, I had steak, rice, polenta, peas and corn and salad. I later had some watermelon and a big glass of fruit juice.
I then started my drive home, 1 hour. I stopped at a petrol station and bought some iced coffee, for the journey home. I however only drank half of it, as it seemed to upset my tummy and make me farty.
And that was my day.

Just wasting time while waiting on a process to finish on my computer. I hope this process works. I've been struggling with fixing the code since Wednesday. Every time I resolve one issue, two more creep up. Grrrr.
Looks like I'll be working some over the weekend. :(
