Why do you want to be a CF moderator?

This forum is in need of moderators and I would like to help out. When I see a need I try to help in any way I can. I've always had a servants heart that way.


What attributes do you think you can bring to the job?

I've been a moderator on a secular board. I held the position for over a year before deciding it was time to leave that particular forum. So I know the types of duties that are involved and how to use moderator tools.

Also, I feel I have experience and wisdom to give in this role. Though I've not always shown restraint in a few of the more emotional situations on the CC forum, I've tried to be fair.


You are expected to be on CF for at least one hour four times a week. Are you able to provide this commitment?

Yes.

Do you have previous experience in moderation?

Yes. Please see question #3. :)

Are you over 16 yrs old?

Yes. :D


Which Forums do you want to work in?

Conservative Christian to begin with, but possibly more if needed.

Tell us a bit about yourself here.

I'm a member of River of Life Assembly of God and have been for the past 10 years. I've worked on the mission field through MAPS in Yakima WA, San Antonio TX, and the Canary Islands in Spain. My heart is to serve God in whatever capacity I've been given. I was a worship leader in my church for 7 years, only recently went on sabbatical. I love to sing for the Lord, it's my passion. :)

I don't care for labels, so not many people know I go to an AG church. I feel that we've fragmented the body of Christ which was never God's intent when He called us to be His children. We ought to be about the Kingdoms business, not for the glorification of the church, but for Gods glory and honor. This is one reason I'm a member of the CC forum. We have a diversified group of people who are united in Christ. It's encouraging to see and be apart of. :groupray:

THIS THE CURRENT PROCEDURE

1. This current guideline is only in effect until the community establishes WIKI guidelines for holding moderator elections, and no later than December 31, 2007.

2. Moderators elected under this guideline keep their positions until December 31, 2007.

3. To receive a nomination, a candidate must approach or be approached by a moderator and receive their support.


4. The supporting moderator will start two threads.a. A poll with two options. "Yes" and "Apply Later".b. A thread for Q&A with the candidate. In this thread there will be no more than ONE primary post per member (questions or statements)--with the ONLY exception being ONE additional post for one of the following reasons:1. to ask ONE follow up question (must be directly related to the original question)2. to clarify the orignial question IF asked by the applicatant, or3. to recant a statement made by the member in the original post the member made.c. While the application itself is no longer necessary, it might be usefull to use the old mod application to glean some of the questions for the applicant.5. The poll and Q&A threads will remain open for 7 days. At this point they will be closed.

6. The poll thread will be used ONLY for voting purposes. The only posts to be made in this thread are to indicate a change in voting. All other posts will be moved to the Q&A thread.
Decided to keep poll and Q&A threads combined

7. At the end of the seven days, the votes will be tabulated.
Greater than 70% approval (Yes votes) will result in the candidate being elected.
This option is chosen over a simple majority (50% +1%) to avoid polarizing the fora.
70% or greater demonstrates a wide degree of acceptance of the candidate.

(please note that the votes will be screened of non-members and socks and their votes removed)

You do? As a future mod, you really need to study Wiki Math. It goes something like this:

If a Wiki is opposing a Non-Conservative view, then, any poll associated with it would be calculated like this:

51% voting the Non-Conservative view down is not the majority.

The reason is that all other votes automatically go to the Non-Conservatives.

If there is a 70% majority voting the Non-Conservative view down, then, there is obviously a problem with the poll. This results in a second poll running concurrently with the first poll but with the question posed in a slightly different manner so that people are confused and vote for the Non-Conservative view.

Then, the two polls are combined and all Conservative votes are cancelled out by the second poll.

Naturally, this results in the passing of the Non-Conservative rule. It is a consensus of the entire membership.
