Why do you want to be a CF moderator?
CF, especially the Christian Conservative & Blessing Exchange subforums, has been a blessing to me and I want to contribute something back to preserve what is great about this forum. Hopefully I can be a blessing to others in the process.


What attributes do you think you can bring to the job?

Tell us a bit about yourself here.
I have been a christian for over 10 years. Most of my friends consider me to be too conservative (especially for California). I work in human resources and accounting. When I'm not working, I enjoy my 4 show dogs (bichon frise), playing on the computer, and reading.

THIS THE CURRENT PROCEDURE

1. This current guideline is only in effect until the community establishes WIKI guidelines for holding moderator elections, and no later than December 31, 2007.

2. Moderators elected under this guideline keep their positions until December 31, 2007.

3. To receive a nomination, a candidate must approach or be approached by a moderator and receive their support.

4. The supporting moderator will start two threads.a. A poll with two options. "Yes" and "Apply Later".b. A thread for Q&A with the candidate. In this thread there will be no more than ONE primary post per member (questions or statements)--with the ONLY exception being ONE additional post for one of the following reasons:1. to ask ONE follow up question (must be directly related to the original question)2. to clarify the orignial question IF asked by the applicatant, or3. to recant a statement made by the member in the original post the member made.c. While the application itself is no longer necessary, it might be usefull to use the old mod application to glean some of the questions for the applicant.6. The poll and Q&A threads will remain open for 7 days. At this point they will be closed.

7. (The poll thread will be used ONLY for voting purposes. The only posts to be made in this thread are to indicate a change in voting. All other posts will be moved to the Q&A thread.)
Decided to include the discussion here with the poll!

8. At the end of the seven days, the votes will be tabulated.
Greater than 70% approval (Yes votes) will result in the candidate being elected.
This option is chosen over a simple majority (50% +1%) to avoid polarizing the fora.
70% or greater demonstrates a wide degree of acceptance of the candidate.

(Please note, the poll will be screened for socks or non-members votes which will be excluded from the vote)

I met GreenMunchkin several months ago and she invited me to join CC recently. After working with Lady Trekki and Lisa on a contest in the Blessing Exchange I decided to check out CC since they are such great people. It is a wonderful place - what I imagine CF was originally intended to be. I would be honored to help keep it that way.

rmw is good people. She is highly organized and has good ideas. It is true that she only recently joined CCC in the last month or so, but I believe half of moderating is being willing to serve.

I can vouch for rm...she's a very sweet gal and has been a wonderful partner to me in the contest we are both judging. :) And she's an Administrative Assistant to boot! (just like me!) :D We both have similiar ways of thinking in terms of organization and all. She'd be an asset to our forum if we have her as a moderator. :thumbsup:

Also, she's been around the forum for about a month I'd say and has posted in many of the fellowship threads. :)

OH yeah...and she has a sense of humor too! ^_^ Which goes a LONG way with me. ;)

I don't post here as much as I could do, but as far as I know I have long standing voting rights! :D

Robin would make an excellent mod, and has a very nice character :). I don't think that just not knowing her should really be the basis for putting in a no vote. Say no if you have seen something that would make you think she would not be good in the position - or else take the time to find out about her!

However, I too was thinking of putting "no" - only because Robin and Lady Trekki together are trouble ;) :D It's the admin type in both of them! That, and a shared fondness with Lisa of spreadsheets, I worry the forum will be filled with argument about whether Lotus or Excel is better ;) :)
