May I suggest that the Log has its own forum space where every offender has their own file. So that we can just go to the file and add or at least be able to review history on file.

It took me a bit to figure out how Jo has it setup. I think its a bit clever.
On the 1st page, we have "the list". Everytime we send out a rfe or perform a staff edit, we add the name to the list alphabetically. As you add the name to the list, we go to the last post and enter it there. You copy the url, from whatever page your on, right now its on page 2, so not difficult to keep up with at the moment, and then make a link to that page from the name you added into the alphabetical list. This way, when we need to search for say, nasa1, you clk on his name and the link takes you to the page where you can find his reports.
On mine i simply enter, thread deleted 9-18-07, and i make those words a link to the report, so when you clk it, your taken to the report. Each entry will have its own link to its report. Pretty clever ey?

No, each MEMBER has one post. All violations on that member will be in that one post. It is a history on that one member. We do not want to have to search through 10 posts on 50 pages to find all of the violations on one person.

Correct, Lisa!
The idea is that the link takes you the members post which is his archive. If you have something to add, edit that member's post and add it. No need to do anything to the OP if the name is already there.

BTW, guys. When you embed the url onto the name in the op, it has to be the url OF THE POST, not from the adress bar at the top of the page.
When clicked on, it should take the viewer to a single post. If you're not sure how to do this, you can find it in Wiki: Congregational Moderator training (http://foru.ms/t5995432-wiki-congregational-moderator-training.html)

I fixed my two entries now so that when you click the names, rather than it takeing you to the page, and you having to go through the excruciating task of scrolling down the page, you can now be taken to the particular post. :P

I'd already done it, stone! but thanks for double checking!
BTW I think your presence in your CC poll would be useful.

While I understand the purpose of the log, I tend to agree with the OP on this. Do you think it might be better to have a subforum that keeps track of this, with a sticky in the forum that acts as the directory linking to the appropriate threads?

It would be easier to start that way, when it's still small, than to convert it when it is out of control, IMO.

Too right, Jas - one of our dearly departed (777 time!) mods and I tried to sort the pre777 log and it was a nightmare. I was relieved when 777 made it unnecessary to continue.
