From what I have read and observed, I don't think the foru.ms angels are doing too well.
How do you think we can help?
I think that one way is to assign each person to concentrate on one part of the forum.
Maybe one week, I can do the prayer request part.
Someone can do the intros that week.
Or maybe we can take turns sending the blessings to the angels, angels of the month, and control the armor donations.
What do you think?

Well I think that's probably a great idea...
the Angels have been a little scattered since the reforms...and during the upheaval your "fearless" leaders were also sidetracked...

I truly think every Angel needs to be working intros and prayer requests on a daily basis...

umm birthdays and such, there are *so* many taht there's just no way to bless 'em all...but we can always try :D

I think a large pat of what we could do to help is in teh Support areas and the "how do I?" threads...bless 'em post links/directions etc...

discuss please, and we'll figure out teh best way to put our individual talents to work :)

okay...as far as I can see these are the duties we as angels need to be doing...

We have the "those in need of prayer" thread as well as the Prayer Request forum that we need to be sure are getting covered. People in need of prayer need that encouragement, so...let's start there.

Daily stop by and check the thread, the members are usually linked so visit the thread/profile and leave a message...

Daily stop by the "New members in need" thread, and visit the New Member Intros forum as well. Please, please, take time to read their introduction, some new members truly are in need and searching when they arrive. Take the time to post a link to a forum they might get the help they need in...addiction, post a recovery link, prayer support, post the prayer request, searching post edification link etc... If they're just saying hi I'm new, post a link based on their age/sex to a lifestyles forum...something other than just a graphic. Don't forget to bless them.

For birthdays, surfingangel had the idea of blessing just those who are the same age as hers...I have yet to see a day where there are fewer than 100 b'days, so that may be a good idea...But, I would like a concentrated effort to bless and wish our elder members birthday greetings...

Support area...if you have time: Check the How do I? threads in support and post solutions and answers there.

And of course, we need to recruit more Angels to accomplish all of this...

Hi all,

I'm new, so I'm not sure what to say here... I'm all for organized - and I'm willing to work wherever is needed. Mainly I've been hitting the newbie intro threads - and last I was on it took me over 2 hours to get through posting, guestbook and blessing the ones that were new... I didn't get anywhere else, but I'd like to...

How about combining the "Check in/out" and "Contacts" threads? Also, maybe when we check in we can say where we are going to be working? That way the next angel that checks in will know, and can go to another area? I'm not sure if all the angels check in and out, though - I was thinking that it might be logical to post the contacts made (and where - new member intro, prayer, etc) in the check-out post, combining those 2 threads into one.

From older angel-related posts it looks like there were "teams" with leaders... Did that work well before? Should we consider it again?

So sorry, I'm kind of a monkey wrench right now - my work schedule has gone bananas. I'm able to do angel work a few times a week for several hours each time, instead of a little bit every day. I hope that isn't going to cause a problem! Things will eventually even out again, but I'm not sure when yet... If someone else is in this situation, maybe we can be a "team" and together can cover every day of the week...

A quick note on the birthdays - I have only been sending birthday wishes to those members who have been on within the last 6 months... I found that (at least on the last couple of lists) many hadn't been online for years! Has anyone else noticed that? I'm not sure how those reports are generated - but is there a way to specify only those members who have logged on within the past 6 months/year...?

Well, I need to run, but if I think of anything else I will post it here! Thanks everyone for all you do - looking forward to reading everyone else's feedback!

that might be an idea
when the angels first started we had teams, but what we found were huge gaps of people being missed...so we abandonned that idea for just all angels ...

on the b'day lists...that's hard, I just pull it straight from the calendar link on the tool bar above...

sometimes when I'm at owrk I only have a very few minutes in here...like last night work was nuts...so i didn't have a lot of time to be online...
Anyhow...If I can figure out a way to sort the results I will try :)

I just wanted to pop in to let you all know I'm reading the suggestions. There's alot of staff stuff I'm trying my best to help with--- and I'm student teaching so that's taking up alot of time. Tati needs to sleep too :)

I love welcoming and helping new members---I love what the Angels are all about. I'm still working out scheduling stuff but hopefully soon I'll get to pick at least one or two days out of the week and share some of my love for this site with others.
