Anyone else doing this? I just started, after a few years of nudging from a friend. I have some reservations, but I think it's going to be good because it seems very structured. I also like that everyone everywhere is studying the same thing at the same time. Plus it's been a long time since I've been in a Bible study so I am pretty exicted. And mama got to buy a brand new Bible out of the deal, that's always a nice bonus.

Is that a women's group study? My wife was part of a group, pretty sure it was bible study fellowship. It was a 3 year program IIRC.

You know you'll have to play nice with others there...

Sometimes it is hard to be nice
Especially around those that don't want to be nice.

:D I know. No interdenominational bickering, they don't want participants bringing up what affiliation they belong to. I think it's a good idea, it keeps you focused on the common ground. I hear it's an educational study but it's also life application study-- and that's really what I am looking forward to. I am really a nice person in person, my internet personality doesn't reflect this accuratley I'm afraid. :D

We're studying Matthew. Another reason I am excited, around Christmas and Easter, if this is really in depth it should help me focus on the advent and lent stuff, which I always struggle with. So, I'm pretty pumped. :)
What does CBS stand for I imagine BS is bible study but I haven't heard of it before. :)

My church offers this but never have been able to go since I work within the Preschool area. My sister-in-law has joined and it just started this week. I get a good chuckle cause I honestly would wear jeans, flip flops and a t-shirt to this but I've seen some women come in their Easter best. Maybe I don't know the rules of this study...:P

LOL. I don't think it matters what you wear. I saw lots of gals in sweatshirts and jeans last week. :)

I hope you don't mind me responding.
My wife did BSF for two years and really, really enjoyed it. She appreciated the structure and the fact that discussion was always on track, that it motivated people to be prepared and that adult and children's lessons were integrated.
I hope you enjoy it.
Currently we're in a CBS (Community Bible Study) program because BSF doesn't have a program in our area.

Other Bible studies that I have been in have been good, but we would get too off track in discussions and it seemed never had enough time to get to everything. I really like the fact that it's structured. I just finished my first week's lesson-- I am very excited to be involved in it. I think I will enjoy it, thanks. :)
