I've never heard of any black priest controversy, so I'm interested as well to hear from anyone who can enlighten us.

I can't think of any person who has a problem with black, white, green, or any other color in the Priesthood.
I have never asked any of my Priests, what color they are, because I don't care.
I used to be almost militantly in favor of the female Priesthood, but I now think it is something we cannot do, until the whole church decides to move in that direction. So, I am for female ordination, and same sex marriages, but I don't think the church can, or should go in that direction, untill the entire church moves in that direction.
Sex has never mattered for Bapism or Confirmation, but it has always mattered for Ordination and Marriage. We simply cannot unilaterally do something just becasue we think it is right.

Maybe that's why I haven't found anything on it! LOL!

The majority of the Anglican Church today is in Africa and is therefore black. Here is a link for one of the largest on that continent http://www.anglican-nig.org/. None of us have any problem with that except for the fact that they happen to be theologically conservative and are giving the liberals in TEC a lot of problems.
The Archbishop of York in England is black and was originally from Uganda.

There is no black priest controversy in Anglicanism. The majority of the world's Anglicans ARE black.
However, I remember you saying something about the Mormon Temple in your thread about Cathedrals. Could you be thinking not of us but of them (where admitting blacks to their version of the priesthood was a real controversy a few years back??)

Google Absalom Jones. He was the first black Anglican Priest in the USA in 1802.

In certain areas of the Anglican Church and at certain times, "blacks" (quotes only because I don't agree with what is commonly termed as "race") found or would have found it difficult to receive Holy Orders.

And what you say if I charge 5 cents?? LOL
Anyway the Anglican Church has no problems in any of this discussed matter. This are not real Christian Issues, and I have not found anything in Jesus teaching about 'women not allowed or your skin have to be a thirthen colour.
But all the other things we discuss, like same sex relationship, multiple marriage, euthanesia and so on, are very important for a Christlike living and you should try to find out more about it, but I do believe the Anglican Church is a Church which will lead you to our heavenly Father in Heaven.

Paladin said something about it in another thread.

Yes, in the little I have learned so far, it seems a split is approching.
Long been said; yet has not happened yet.
In the 1800's, the Church nearly split over black folk in the Cloth.
In the 1970's, the Church nearly split over women clergy.
This will be no different.
See?

That sounds to me like a prediction concerning the consequence of admitting women to the clergy, not an answer about blacks in the Anglican churches of today--which I understood to be your question.

Some anglicans, but not all, think that women are not to be priests. And some of those who disagree with them, try to link women to the priesthood with black people in the priesthood, essentially calling those who believe in a male priesthood a racist.
Its comparable to comparing bush to hitler, its rhetoric.
(Not that I am accusing paladin of doing this specifically)

Read the whole thing! I got the idea that there was some kind of controversy, but undoubtedly, there isn't!

In certain places and at certain times, yes.
Today? No.

Even conservative Anglicans are pretty liberal. There is absolutely no issue about blacks in the priesthood.
The real debate is over Women (which I support) and Active Homosexuals (which I don't support).
Paladin mentioned an issue that ALL churches were facing in the past. We are beyond that. God does not divide by race, neither do we.
