It's a Christian rock/pop band, originally from Australia. They are currently the longest active Christian rock/pop band, after 22 years. They have written a couple of very recognizable tunes, most memorably "Shine" from 1993. The song "It Is You" is popular as a worship song in a lot of contemporary churches, is also one of theirs.

This year the newsboys (yes, with a small "n") were invited to play in the memorial service at the Pentagon for the anniversary of 9/11.

thanks for answering. I never heard of them before but then, its been a long time since I listend to gospel. back in my day it was the Billy Gaither trio and some others.

am looking the newsboys' web site now - they have a concert about an hour west of me in Santa Clara this coming Saturday.

Excellent! You'd really enjoy seeing the show. I went to one in March, and it was one of the best stage shows I've seen in a very long time. They're very strong on stage, and Peter Furler (frontman) has a tremendous message of grace and a strong presentation of the Gospel that he gives throughout the show.

Can a blue orange still be considered an orange?

For those who don't know, an answer to that could help solve a theological dilemma currently going on here.

I suppose it could. The nomenclature of "orange" is the designation of the citrus fruit; you would have to research whether the fruit took its name from the colour, or if the colour became known by the name of the fruit by association.

A "blue orange" would still be an "orange" only with the added identifier. "Rose" is either the designation of the fragrant flower, or the name of a shade of pink. A "yellow rose" is still a fragrant flower, but with the added identifier of the name of the incongruous colour.

Million Pieces is from a newsboys song, of course, and it's my username on many Christian boards! LOL The other MillionPieces is just a kid, I think they're like 15 or something.

I may be wrong on this, but isn't there some connection between the newsboys, and Mylon Lefevre(sp)? He was big in the late 80's in CCM, and wrote songs for Elvis way back when.

Frontman Peter Furler married Mylon's daughter Summer. They've been married almost 17 years, and have no children.
