Hi, everyone. It is that time again for my son's MRI. We are now in a new town, in a new state, with new doctors and a new hospital to go to. I'm a bit on edge over this, as I am all the time, but it's a bit more because of the new surroundings and facilities. I hope Christopher isn't too nervous or scared being in a new place. :(
Let me give you some background on my son’s tumor. He was diagnosed with it in late Oct/early Nov 2003. It's attached to his brain stem. He’s had a few surgeries and radiation treatment. The tumor has not grown since radiation treatment in 2005, but it created a cyst back this past winter and he had to have another surgery this past May to drain the cyst. A reservoir was put in his head in case a cyst grows again. The doc didn’t know if the tumor created the cyst because it was dying or because it was still alive. :sigh:
Anyway, his MRI is supposed to be around 10:10 a.m. If you all could send along some prayers and good thoughts for him on that day, I'd truly appreciate it. I will get the results the same day, and that's a good thing! I'll let you all know when I know. Thanks a lot.

I had to come back just to reply to this this.
How old is christopher?
I am definitely praying, and praying hard. My younger brother had tumors in his spinal cord that traveled up into his brain. One thing that he hated was getting MRI's and he had quit a few of them before he passed away. He used to tell me how enclosed everything is, and he hated the noise that the machines made.
If you ever need to talk to about these things, please feel free to pm me, and please let us now how he is once you find out. Praying extremely hard :crosseo:

Thanks to you all.
Greg: I'm so sorry about the loss of your brother. :( (((hugs))) I forgot to add Christopher's age. I originally did, but there was a blip in the site, and I had to start over again. Anyway, Christopher is 4. He will be 5 next month. All of his MRIs are done with him under general anesthesia....something to knock him out for a while because he wouldn't be able to sit still that long.

D, I'm so sorry to hear about this. I about lose my mind when one of my kids is sick or suffering, so I can't imagine having to deal with something this serious. I'll pray for your little man.

prayers for your son. My son is probably just a few days older bc his birthday is the last day of this month and he'll be 5 too. If he's going to memorial, that's a wonderful hospital- they're actually all wonderful and I know they'll take good care of him.

Thank you, everyone, for your thoughts and prayers. My stress has been really bad these past few days. It's always really bad before his MRIs. I'm hoping I'll feel a bit better after it's over (if the results are good). I'm going to start going to a massage therapist. I need some relief desperately. I wish my husband were here with me.
