View Full Version : Nominate progressive forum mods

Since it appears sub-forums can be autonomous we can have our own moderators for the progressive forum.

Start the nominations!

Remember, a staff member must endorse nominations for them to go to a vote.

Sophia could probably endorse some, if you qualify!

how many mods would we need?

Not many :)

Not all who are nominated accept. Not all who accept will necessarily get the staff member nod. Not all who get the nod will necessarily win.

Therefore, doesn't hurt to nominate a few. If you all wind up mods it doesn't hurt my feelings any either :)

My opinion is that it would be good to have at least three Progressive mods in this subforum. Currently, staff are supposed to have at least three opinions in a report before taking any action.

We should notify folks so they can accept or decline nomination.

Stormy, you have already seen the thread :)

I will pm RC if you could pm your two.

Actually previously I would have refused to be a moderator but since I think that the debate subforum is going to be lost and this will be the only Adventist forum that has freedom of discussion I am going to accept the nomination.

No second needed?

I'll second the nomination...

Thanks for the nod Stormy. I must decline however. I simply don't have the time. I can barely get on to post in the discussions as it is. I have a lot going on with work right now, and it doesn't look like it will let up in the near future.

RC, we cannot give up the fight for the debate subforum. They must take it from our cold, dead hands if they want it. :)

I need to make sure of something.

I'm welcome here?
I'm allowed to discuss with you all without getting reported?
Am I allowed to vote here?

Just making sure before I get slapped (or reported).:)

Yup on all counts.

Well-I'm not 100% sure about the voting. I have no problems with it though.

you are welcomed here, you can discuss whatever you feel impressed to share... you won't be reported unless you call us ignorant idiots, and only if you make a habit of that..... vote, sure I suppose.....

Thanks. LOL.

I don't believe I've ever called anybody an ignorant idiot before. I'll watch out for that one though.:D

What about becoming a moderator?

Just kidding. I don't have the time.:)

I wouldn't have a problem with it.

Just kidding. I don't have the time.:)It is time-consuming, so anyone considering it should know that going in. The official time requirement for moderating is four hours per week (or at least it used to be; not sure if that's changed now, too), but it actually takes way more time than that.

Good afternoon friends,

I apologize, I completely missed this thread. I would be happy to sponsor the candidates you nominate and conduct the elections.

If, as it appears, the votes will be limited to progressive members, I would need a volunteer to help separate out the SDA voters ineligible in this forum vote.

Once again, I dropped the ball and I apologize

RC has accepted his nomination, so the election process can begin for him. As a member of the PSDA sub-forum, I second the nomination of Stormy. What do you think, Stormy?

As a staff member, I also add my approval to Longhair's for both of these candidates.
