I'm kind of in one of those phases where I'm afraid I'll go to hell if I leave the CoC right now...it's such a mess.
Please pray for me.

If you're going to hell for leaving the C0C, then what about all of us here? Some of us here left the Restoration Movement churches for reasons similar to yours for questioning what they teach, and some of us looked at the CoC and other such churches and rejected them, which is pretty much the same thing. If you're going to hell, then you will still have most of TAW to keep you company.
I'll say this: If you STAY in the CoC after coming to believe that the Orthodox Church is the Church, then while I can't say that will or will not send you to hell (i.e., refusing to enter the Orthodox Church after coming to know - or at least strongly believe - that it's Christ's Church), it certainly will cause you to be miserable as long as you do not enter Her.
Lord, have mercy.

When you realize the absurdity of their claims, it's no wonder they have to resort to scare tactics to keep people in...

Last night I found a site that would scare any Catholic to death regarding leaving their denomination...stating they are the only True Church and all others are going to hell. Nope...Don't fear the CoC. These churches want to instill fear in their followers....Not once has the Orthodox instilled fears in me...and I am extremely cautious of all denominations. The only fear I have, is that I am not obedient enough....in prayer, in life etc....but I have always had that fear. It's my own, not from churches.

Since the CoC did not exist when the Apostles were living on the earth, and since the CoC movement didn't exist for centuries after that, then I would say all of the saints and all of the Christians during that time without this CoC did just fine.
It reminds me of the AoG people who told my sons they were going to hell because we were (at the time) Lutherans, and that made me very angry. They kept insisting to come and take our sons to their church, even though we were in church every Sunday. They have their nerve, don't they?!!

You're definitely in my prayers, friend. One of these days I'll post some of the tactics used on me. Keep the faith, bro.

My prayers are with you. I have been a CoC'er all of my life, and even though my husband and I are ready to convert, it's just not possible at this time. So, I completely understand where you're coming from. However, don't think too bad of the CoC, most honestly think they're teaching the right things. Up until a few years ago, I thought the same way - it's what I was taught growing up, and so I just blindly believed, you know?
Anyway, I don't know if this is helping, but I just wanted you to know that I understand. And hey, at least it didn't take you 34 years to figure out the truth. Keep praying about it, and God will work it out when he's ready. That's what gets me by, while we are here waiting.

I'm sorry you're struggling so hard with this, AJ. It must be very hard for you.
You are in my prayers.

Chin up man. The leader of the church I used to belong to recently said that the Orthodox faith is defective. Not easy to hear such things, but we have the means to get past it.

Did he say it in Latin or in German?

CoC has been popping up a lot recently for me (I'd never heard of this group until around May). Popped into their sites just to get some info on them. I'd list some points but I'm afraid my sarcasm would over take me and I'd add my own opinions.
AJB4, I really do hope you'll get strong enough that their waving threats over your head won't hurt you any more. Be thankful that you've found the fullness of the Truth. In time with God's help, you'll find your way out and come home to us.

I had the same issue when I was moving away and eventually leaving Islam. If I was going to go to hell for believing in the Christ that Bible talked about, I always say, I will burn then.
