That emoticon has been praying the Jesus Prayer ceaselessly for a long time , shouldn't she be shining with the uncreated light of heaven by now? If only my prayer life was that good...

How about this one?

Now, he must be a Bishop... He is censing, and he is going through the book, but not the Gospel. Liturgical book maybe? What is he performing?

My favourite words of the liturgy:) :crosseo:
(Ooops, I should have put that in the first post, oh well, I quoted myself)

I'm pretty sure he's saying it in Slavonic!

I can't think of the Greek spelling but the sound of the opening of the litany in Greek is most beautiful!

I was listening to some comedy-drama on the radio recently and this amused me. It was a conversation between a Lady (a woman of nobility...not the common usage...no pun intended :P) and a man:
"Why's he talking like that?"
"Like what?"
"Like a dumb cornish man with a cold."
"He's an American my lady"
"Oh! I hate to hear vowels suffer like that" ^_^

ps. The Cornish are known for having a "unique" accent ^_^.
myself, I've never been to Cornwall but I've been told that it's full of barbarians and the only person I've known who has gone went with a loaded rifle :P. (Army expedition)
In a recent amnesty against illegal weapons in England there were a few knives etc handed in, but from Cornwall, an elderly farmer handed in a rocket launcher!

If I could correct you ...
En irini tou Kyriou theithomen is: in peace let us pray to the Lord.
Eti kai eti tou kyriou theithomen is: again and again let us pray to the LOrd...
Sorry to correct you just for the sake of misinformation.
God bless,

personally this :liturgy: emiticon I think reads the names of the dead as in a mnimosinon (memorial) or as reading the names of the living and dead during the preparatory service of proskomedia service.
In any case he is reading names, he should know the prayers by heart...lol...
God bless,
Philothei
