We are nearing the 100th anniversary of the controversial Papal encyclical "Pascendi Dominici Gregis", released during the reign of Pius X. This has actually generated an editorial piece in the prestigious New York Times, considered the "paper of record" in the United States (Though it is not without it's critics).

The editorial piece in question takes a very negative view towards the encyclical. I was wondering if anyone here on the forum had their own viewpoints, either positive or negative. I'd be interesting in reading a discussion about this.
