(a quote from the above linked article by False Worship by C. H. Mackintosh)
"Now, false worship is the very reverse of all this. What is it? It is composed of a variety of elements, fleshly thoughts, animal feelings, worked upon by external things, an imposing ceremonial, sensuous rituals, dim religious light, fine music, pomp and circumstance. These are the elements of false worship, and are opposed to the simple worship of the inner sanctuary, "the live coal, and the pure incense." And in looking at Christendom at this moment, do we not see numerous altars smoking with this impure fire and impure incense? Do we not see the most unholy materials consumed upon many a censer, and the smoke thereof going up as an insult rather than a sweet savour to God? Truly we do, and it is needful for us to look well to the condition of our hearts, lest we be carried away into the self-same evil, for we may rest assured that no one who thus trifles with God will escape with impunity
May we get more deeply into the mind of God about present things, and our own place therein!"

A good read.
The final sentence is what it's really all about. Becoming like Yahshua in character. He our Creator and we His people forever in that perfect harmony.
AV1611, I was wondering what your general opinion was of what we find labelled in "Christian Bookstores" today as being "worship music".
My opinion is perhaps best expressed by the antics of Rebeccah St James. Who is a total counterfiet christian par excellance and second to none, in the phony "christian worship music" scene. Heretical mindset, uses phony Bible versions, very closely associates with both extreme Apostates and extremely reprobate politicians., etc.
Basicly i agree with some of David Cloud's analysis of the phony "christian" music that has been dominating us for decades. I don't agree with all of his views, but he has the discernment to detect and track the most dangerous incoming blips on the radar screen.
Fact is, we're being deluged with far too much garbage. Much of it is passed off as "worship" but inwardly it is uninspired junk. Totally corrupted by wrong doctrine, motives and tinged heavily with pride.
Conversely, can you provide an example from your memory, of what you considered to be a truely greatly inspiring piece of true worship music coming from a truely Holy Spirit filled Christian vocal artist. Be careful though, to consider the message from C. H. Mackintosh that we have just recieved. Sounds like a test. It isn't. Your opinion on music will be left alone as your best guess. It's a very tough call to try and safely pluck out the true worship from the sea of false everywhere. I've made so many mistakes trying so i can understand other's choices being a struggle in their mind too. In wieghing truth from error.
I'm honestly very frustrated in my own life with listening to "christian" worship music that's not really true worship. For instance. I really like someone's music and then realize later they are caught up in their life with stuff that surely must have negated the authenticity of what music they had produced then at that time.

I hold to exclusive psalmody (http://foru.ms/t5540218-exclusive-psalmody.html) and I do not like this contemporary music stuff. You may like this (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ScWdek6_Ids). :D

Excellent comedy.
It's about self yes, ...but also money too.
Churchianity is huge business as we all know. Their conceptualization of the "holy spirit's" guidance becomes whatever decision or method that makes more money to the participants in this charade.
True worship is like true preaching. If the doctrine is in error there's no edification for us. And as your article has said, without truth, our Creator is not truely worshipped at all then either.
We have to be prepared for true worship by loving truth and having nothing to do with any of the major lies that are out there. The me-me-me ism that we all are sometimes guilty of gradually dissappears i think as a real presense of Yahshua is revealed to us as individuals. I think revelation of Yah's presense transforms us. It causes a seriousness of determination to be real -- after being very exposed to an ALL SEEING Creator. What is there to hide anymore? What's the point of any more games?
Calvinism teaches a view of Scripture that says Yah seeks after us and does the initiating of our salvation. True worship is tied into that equation somewhere. Perhaps you could discuss what you might have learned about how true worship is developed in us.
