Hooray! Congrats and all that!!!

Losing weight isn't easy! I know. I'm on weight watchers and after almost a year, I've lost 23 lbs!

Actually, if you take my weight from before my surgery, I've lost a little over 45.

And it's a long hard road! (I want cake. :() But, as the Word says "through Christ, I can do anything"

Well, my boss says that when he quit smoking, the only way to do it is to realize that you have to suffer. This goes the same way with any addiction and I think it also goes with dieting. In my case, I gave up stuff. So far I have given up permanently, donuts, chips, hot dogs, chocolate, pop, McDonalds, and trans fat whenever possible. We had our Faith Fest (Faith Lutheran Church Festival) Sunday and there wasn't anything healthy to eat. There was Jets, hot dogs, hamburgers, chips, and ice creme. I went up to my friend who was serving food and asked him if there was anything healthy. He replied, "This is a Lutheran picnic, of course not." I ended up not eating anything.

I myself have lost several pounds in the past few months. So much so that I have had to buy some new pants! I wore a suit coat the other day that I haven't been able to wear in 5 years!

I dodn't give up eating anything, I just don't eat as much as I used to. I stopped the nibbling and snacking in the evening that I used to do. You'd be surprised how much of a difference that makes.

And don't forget, DO NOT EAT AT NIGHT. Those will always come back to bite you. I am at 170 lbs now.

Thanks everyone. I plan to lose another 10. I'm not fat, but I don't like the idea of weighing 180 like I used to.

Next time weigh yourself without that heavy cross around your neck and take off dem boon-docker shoes. (speaking about your CF character) :) That should do it.

Wow, how tall are you? Cause I weigh 180 and I'm perfectly cool with it, but I'm also 6'1" tall.

Although my dancing weight (the amount I get to when I'm preparing for a ballroom dance competition) is around 170.

I'm 5'11". I'm not fat. I just want to weigh less. And I'll prove it to you. Right now, I'm at school. It's 20 miles from here to home. I road my bike. Of course I didn't mean to come here. I just happened to find myself in the area. I plan to go to church now and see if any of the staff are there. I'm friends with most of the staff. Church is 22 miles away from home. I'd say about 50 miles total. So far I have only used one bottle of gatorade as well. I'm gonna snack on what little food I brought with me.

Well, just ride your bike 60 miles a day and you will see the pounds fall right off. I was awfully thin when I did cross country biking. Now I am a bit more than when I was younger.

Don't turn anorexic now though. I had an eating disorder when I was younger and because of my obsessive compulsive personality, I have to be careful about how I think of my weight.

It's nice that you're excited about this, but do remember that it can become an obsession.

Ahh, I started to remember the year at college I played Rugby at 185 (I'm 6' 3") What a joy, I could just run and run. Chase down those backs from behind and slide their face in the grass for 10 feet or so to teach them a lesson. Play on the ice and snow in shorts and it was just about right for temperature.

Fun to remember the days before back problems and fibro. Thanks guys.

Yea, I play ultimate Frisbee with InterVarsity at school. I couldn't understand how I had unlimited endurance. I would run all up and down that field nonstop and I still had energy to spare. Now I can understand how I could do it after this long ride. Also, I just got off work, and it was hard. I was tired all day long, but I couldn't just quit. So here I am after 8 hours of work, and I think I'll just call it a night at 7:00pm. I don't even have to get up tomorrow.

I was in IVCF in college and we where constantly playing ultimate frisbee as well.

I hadn't rode in months. Ever since I lost my riding horse a couple of years ago, I hadn't found one to replace her, now I'm trying to get hubby to sell a couple. We got 3, he wants to at least keep one.

You don't know sore muscles until you ride for a couple of days after being out of the habit. I doubt the horse suffers unless the rider is a "big" fan of potato cakes.
