Anyone interested in becoming a Mod?

I'm unsure how long I want to stick around here...really, I'm torn as my mood indicates. And we need more Lutherans (any synod!) as moderators.

If you're interested, please state so in this thread and we can get the ball rolling.

Poor Lambi. I can understand why you would be ready to be free of the turmoil. :sigh:

With football season starting and the holidays coming, I'll be busier in general and spending more time on secular, special interest sites and have no desire to be any more deeply involved here. It's only gone from bad to worse since 777, which some of us knew would be the case.

Besides fellowshipping with Lutherans in TCL and keeping in touch with a few friends in some general fellowship areas, I have no desire to spend more time here babysitting. Life is too short to think we can evangelize here and take that energy away from those who need us in person.

I am in the same boat as you. I am ready to leave when you and the others are going. Erwin has made it clear that he will not change things back so I figure the time is coming soon when we will depart for better pastures. I have absolutely no interest in becoming a moderator.

Actually I thought 777 was a change in the right direction allowing the forum members to control more. But then Erwin decided to ignore the membership vote and get rid of CF.

He had a good idea, the mod house needed to be cleaned out. He just failed to follow through on his own idea of allowing us to control CF.

But no thanks I don't think I want to be a mod. Too much time that I'll be spending elsewhere.

I am considering being a mod but my better half gets the final say.

While I certainly agree we need more mods we also can't afford to lose Lamby so would everyone please cheer her up. :)

I don't want to be the only Lutheran left to mod here, no way. :sigh:

I'm not sure what all will happen yet but there is a meeting planned for this next week. We are in hopes of improving rules and protocal. I had my hand in the protocal wiki the other day, if it doesn't get changed it will make getting rid of problems a lot easier.

A meeting? When will that be. Since the school year officially begins tomorrow around here, other meetings and activities start up as well so my time gets shortened, unless I decide to quit some things...but I have a hard time saying No! LOL

It hasn't been determined when yet, its going to be a tele-conference. I'm also not sure how many can do this but I'll let you know when I find out.

I do honestly believe things will turn around and get better. It will take time and effort, but I think it will happen. :)

I am sorry I haven't been around here, been hanging at the apologetics forums. I understand the changes being what they are, but I will stay here probably as long as they let me stay. As far as being a mod, sounds like an exercise in ultimate patience. I have been there done it and am not sure if I have time or the constitution. I hope things get better here. I have found lots of good people here and hope everybody stays. God bless you all.

I would be willing to serve.

Lamb, though, I think it would be best if none of us leave hurriedly before seeing how all of these changes turn out in the long run. You are a good moderator, and it would be a pity to lose you.

Thank you :) All the support I've been receiving is touching.

I see that Erwin is really trying to win the Christians over by allowing some changes to take place, like the movement of the faith forums back to the top and even suggesting having a random bible verse on the front page. So, that's not too bad.

Maybe I'm just jaded when it comes to these sort of things, but I'm having a hard time getting excited by Erwin's back-pedaling. How many months do we then get before he complains about how all of the Christians twisted his arm and kept him from his vision? lol

Understandable. When a person turns their back on something as important as the name of their faith, then they do become a bit untrustable.

Something you'all may not be aware of is that Erwin is non denimonational. As such his beliefs are not as well structured as ours are, and things that make a big difference to us don't mean a thing at all to him.

I do think he is listening to Christians more now and hope that continues.

Lamby, I hope you can stick this out, but I will understand if you choose not to. It has been veryb trying indeed. Not only do we as mods have all the troubles that everyone else has, but we also have some team troubles to boot. I think some members of my team may be ready to shoot me, as I'm a bit hard headed and have a mind of my own, at least part of one :P

Being a mod requires a lot of commitment which is something I couldn't do.

I feel bad that so many have invested so much time and money in this forum only to be hurt by the owners decision. :(

At least, Jim, you're getting some work done! Because school started today, I've been busy getting my daughter ready and haven't had time to work on reports...or the energy.

Sometimes a decision has to be made and not everyone will agree with the mod's viewpoint. You at least have the courage to make decisions; a lot of times I'm like, "I dunno" LOL

We all have to remember that this is just a stupid web site. It's not worth ruining anyone's health over.

Hey All,
I let LilLamb know that I would be interesting in applying to be a mod. I just wanted you all to know. I believe there will be a poll of some sort where you will all be able to vote. The choices are YES or APPLY LATER.

Also, no matter which way anyone votes, I'll be hanging around to learn and to fellowship. You won't bruise my tender ego if you vote APPLY LATER.;)

Anyhoo, just wanted to give you all a heads up.

God's blessings to you all
