This is for CCC members only. Non-members should not participate, comment, or ask questions.

You are never going to get that done. It's almost impossible to get that many members to agree and develop that many steps.

That is why I made the suggestion of a rule-making body back a week or so ago when Lisa and I were discussing all of this one night (remember that Lisa, about the Founding Fathers! LOL).

Anyway, IIRC it was shot down when brought up to the general membership though.

This really doesn't need to be that hard though...

Lisa, I'll think on your proposal and make some good suggestions as to how rule changes should be effected. I've already suggested a why be required when a member proposes to change or add a rule as that will help us better define the problem and come up with a good solution.

Bumping this thread....

Please join Lisa, XianJedi, and I and provide your suggestions on what procedure we should have regarding changing rules.

WHY??? The reason Lisa has established this is so we don't have the problems we have seen with a WIKI being snapshat BEFORE changes have been finalized (i.e. the 5 member sponsor rule taken out of the rules, and the open membership sign-in being closed at the same time! Thus leaving us without a way to welcome new members officially.).

This will be critical in preventing the sheer number of threads and polls and such. SO, if you HATE the fact that there is so much debate in the general forum about the rules, and you HATE the fact that we are having all these polls, please join this WIKI and let's get a system finalized!!!

Sorry...just being realistic. It's going to be impossible to get everyone to agree with a system to develop the rules.

It's not impossible, it's not that many rules, and we don't actually need "everyone" to agree. Like any rule you're going to have someone who doesn't like it, but that doesn't mean we just throw out all law, does it.

We've got only 3 rules so far, and outside of a couple minor details, just about everything is covered from idea to implementation.

And everyone who is participating so far is pretty much agreeing with everyone else.

Alright how are you going to define the majority? We cannot even develop the standards to make the rules in the first place. If anyone takes charge someone else cries tyrant.

Read what I posted again - and tell me where I said, "every detail has been settled".

Did I not just say "outside of a few details"??

That is one of those details. BUT we are also very close to resolving that issue.

Seriously, back off the "doom and gloom" a bit, it's really distasteful, and honestly, it gives me pause about you becoming a Mod. That's not a slam, just constructive criticism.

My comments has nothing to do with my job as a Mod. I'm just stating that how the rules are now structured is a royal mess. Myself and Lisa has tried to set up polls and different methods to get this in order and it hasn't panned out.

Thanks for pointing at an irrelvant detail regarding my enforcement of the rules which why I was elected.

Yep, I have been at the butt end of that. However, I have decided that I will respond with no apologies. I will simply state that I am trying to serve the forum and God with the talents that God has given me.

Please remember that some people do this to even their pastors. It is unfortunately part of their nature to criticize. So, I say, just forgive it and get on with the work at hand.

Awesome! Get your little green butt over there and look for anything that is missing. :D We want to close all possible loopholes. The more member input the better!

I think the lack of member participation is the problem.

It's totally relevant, as it shows a piece of your character and attitude, which is part of every decision you make about every subject. That's something you need to recognize when taking on a position of responsibility like a Mod.

I know my responsibility as a mod, and as I stated this system is a royal mess. I would appreciate if you have any comments about my job that you address them in private.

The forum being beautiful? Too many questions? :D

Yah, New, you're right about member participation. But I think most people are just WIKIed out. It's a soul destroying system.

I think, for the most part, providing we come up with something workable and sensible, the majority will agree with it.

Good peoples in this here forum :)

Fine, leave your position out of the discussion.

Your attitude is still way overly pessimistic, and it's not nearly as much of a "mess" as you are trying to make it out to be.

You complain it's a mess, and that participation is low - but then you DON'T PARTICIPATE!! You just whine that it doesn't work, but don't do anything to help.

Only now do you post in the rule wiki, but that's just a complaint also. You complain there's no leadership, but that's exactly what our small group is doing, taking leadership.

Look, if y'all have beef, please can you discuss it in private? Please? We really are trying to make this a better, nicer place to be. Enough badness. We've all had nothing but badness for nigh on 2 months now. You're both really, really nice people, and it's not nice watching you argue. So if you have to, please do it by PM, or something?

My favorite managerial saying is "Don't bring me problems, bring me solutions". Don't remember who said it first but I like it.

Lets all work for the common goal and keep the bickering and unproductive behavior some place else.

We have had three days of no reports. I would hate for someone to get upset enough to break that cycle.

Obviously if I am posting I am participating? Duh?

And my comment about leadership was for a potential position we can assign to someone.

Really? You felt the need to sink to "duh" comments?

The only "participation" you gave was to just [wash my mouth][wash my mouth][wash my mouth][wash my mouth] and moan that things aren't working. I'm talking about REAL participation - making an effort to change things for the better.

You know, I mentioned your poor attitude on the chance that you might see what you're doing (which was nothing but hurting the morale of some people who have been puting in a great deal of effort to improve our congregation, people like Lisa, Tangeloper, Albion, Hentenza, Debi, Munchkin, and Nyj, people who deserve your gratitude and appreciation, not your negativity), but instead you chose to just put up walls and start swinging. You have an opportunity to learn and grow and mature in Christ. Take it.
