Just wondering if our "newest mods" are still planning to take on that roll around here in light of the new site name, etc.

I've noticed that some of our women here have the biblical discernment and mental stability that's required for the job of moderator... ;)

They probably could, as long as they ask the men for permission before taking any action.

I support women as being entirely my intellectual equal and an equal co-heir in Yahshua for eternity. Where leadership issues arise that require men only is in the structure of the Local Church. That's the only place we find the Created Order in this regard being implemented with regards to men and women in this way. Oh, and in child bearing as well. There the men are not to be assigned that roll... ;)

A forum moderator's job is to be fair and protect all of the honest posters here from the dishonest or irrational behavior of the few who would make sport of us. A women with spiritual discernment can do that job. Same as be President of the USA for that matter. Just don't claim to be an ordained minister. While we men avoid being implanted with ovaries. Not any problem whatsoever for the sane men among us. ;)

In total agreement w kobuk re women authority outside the Church, and this site is not a Church.

I await the "powers that be" in regards to my moderator status. When I emailed my readiness last week I wast kindly told to wait, and so I do.

Jokes about Dr. Adler and my mental health aside, I am not "looking for" the job, but was asked if I would volunteer. Since I spend much time here, I thought at least on a temporary basis I would.

Hehe, don't worry guys, I was just jokin around :P . I know this place is nothing like a church.

In truth, I personally have no interest in being a mod. I've done it extensively in the past on sites I've set up, so I know the responsibility involved. That's just not something I can or want to commit to right now. But I do agree, there are some very qualified women who frequent this board that I'd be happy to vote in as new mods if they applied.

I shall be stickin around :)

Glad to see you're sticking around too, JR!

Desmalia, I hadn't even noticed the name change.

Girlie, that is one intense little stick cartoon at the bottom there, mind if I occasionally borrow it?

"Just do not claim to be an ordained minister"? A woman can be an ordained minister and NOT be a Pastor of a congregation. There is A LOT more to ministry than the worry of usurping authority over a man. Get over it. God is the qualifier. There IS NO SUCH SCRIPTURE that eliminates women from being ordained Ministers. Besides that, if you want to get technical "ordination" per se is not a requirement of God but of man. I am a woman and I met man's requirement, long after I met God's.
