What do you guys think about me continuing to use the same graphics.... Name change or not, this is still CF.

And we're all still CF Angels. I vote to not change out graphics and to continue to call ourselves CF Angels. :D

Honestly Erwin is wanting everything to reflect Foru.ms...
so that' where we're heading methinks...I ahven't heard back from Adiya on details so I'm gonna move ahead based on Erwins wishes until I hear otherwise.

Hmmm...I've never used Corel Paint Shop Pro or Corel Animation Shop.

I've used Adobe Photoshop CS and CS2 for a few years, and Adobe Illustrator CS and CS2 for a couple years. Photoshop is my favorite program, and that's what I know the best. It also has limited animation capabilities. I want to become as proficient in Photoshop and Illustrator as I can, because those are the programs I use at work.

Years ago, I played around with the old Autodesk Animator a little, and I've toyed with Flash a tiny bit, but that's it as far as animation.

I just took a look at some of the artwork on the PhotoBucket site. Wow. I'm wondering how many of those you guys created from scratch. Some of them, like the little angels, look like maybe you guys drew them. A few are obviously photographs. Others, like a painting of Jesus I saw, I'm guessing someone grabbed off the Internet and just added some stuff to it. However, if every one of those was created from scratch by you guys, that is amazing!

I just wanted to say that one of the first things I noticed about this Christian Forum when I joined were all the beautiful animated GIFs and images. That really makes this Christian Forum attractive, and gives it a very pleasant, peaceful and happy environment. I think its one of the things that make this Christian Forum stand out above the rest, in my opinion. I also thought to myself, "Man, where do they get all these gorgeous animated GIFs from?" Not that I'm into the cutesie, pretty and girly stuff, but I majored in Fine Arts (Drawing and Painting), so I really appreciate the beauty of art. And when it is Christian art, that makes it all the better!

You guys are doing an amazing job!

nope I'm not talented enough to create from scratch...I've never learned and most of the tutorials I find read like stereo instructions to me...

I belong to a christian tub group on yahoo...since they're ok for non-profit use I use 'em :)

Please excuse my ignorance, but what is a Christian "tub" group?

I'm also confused by something else. On my 'Members Art' page at http://foru.ms/t6075095 four of the things I did (the 'sun' image, the verse from the book of Daniel, the Bikers Marathon Olympic coin, and the "Team Jedi" one, which is something I created on my own when I was working at Team Jedi Marketing and was never used for anything) now have the "Forums" logo on the bottom right corner of them. I'm assuming that someone did that to show that they will now officially be used for this site? And it only began happening when I started posting in this Thread, from what I can tell. I was just wondering why that was done?

.tub groups...yahoogroups? it's an email group and we send brushes filters, masks, tubes all those goodies you use in PSP, some can be used for photoshop...through email...though beware, some of hte larger groups you can get as many as 2000 emails per day

I just noticed that the same 'Forums' logo was put in the lower right-hand corner of a girl who posted photos of herself. I'm wondering if someone is going around and doing that as a prankster, or if that somehow (which I would doubt) is part of this Forum's policy and procedure. Also, someone named 'Masked_Chris' replied with this: that happened to me as well.... frankly I was kind of annoyed by it. I don't want my images to be the propority of forU.ms

The other one I posted using the Insert Image button. This one I'm posting using the Manage Attachments button, pasting the URL into the 'Upload File From A URL' field. I'm not sure whether it matters which method I use to upload these.

By the way, I just want to let you guys know that I had to look at your glitter ones to give me an idea how to do the glittery-type look, including both the moving colors inside the text, and also the glitter reflections. So I used your art to give me the idea.

I want to post this one as well, which I created several weeks ago for my Journal on my Home Page website. I want to compare the flames I did on it, with the flames on the Happy Birthday one. If I do flames again, I want to try to make them a bit more realistic than what I've done with these.

I just created this one. The colors on the butterfly are a little dark, but when I made them brighter, they kind of blended in with the "Welcome!" text. So I made the butterfly colors a little dark to try to push it to the background more.

That's OK! No problem. I think I want to do more butterflies, because you can use all sorts of color schemes with them, and butterflies are so beautiful. I can always find a photo of one and just trace around the inside and outside. For the one I did above, I was looking online for a photo, and I actually found a black-and-white tracing of one, so I used that instead, since that would be quicker and easier.

I checked my email and didn't see any email from you yet. But whenever you want to send those transparencies is fine. In the meantime, like I said, I can always find a photo and just trace the lines from that, and then just add the filters and effects. I could also draw one and scan it in, but that's a lot more work, and it has been years since I've done any hand-drawing or painting on canvas anyway.

I was trying to picture how an animated glittering dog would look. I've never seen an animated GIF of a glittering dog, but I don't think it would look very good. And it would take too long to make any of his body parts animated, because its getting late, and I have to get up early to go out of town, so I just now quickly did this one.

Those pictures that you put up are so pretty.

See, I can do stuff in Photoshop, but my style is different. Your stuff is so petite and beautiful and flowery. In comparison to that, my stuff is more klunky. So I might be able to do a few things, but I can't duplicate the intricate, delicate stuff that you do. Your stuff is more like expensive, fine china. I guess you just have that feminine touch that I just don't have. I think that girls and women would appreciate your stuff more than mine. I guess that everyone contributes various styles here, and each style enriches the whole from different aspects.

Just a quick reminder for graphics guidelines though ;)

Graphics should be site appropriate (G rated)
Graphics should be copyright free and original creations
Designers should not use watermarks as all graphics become the property of the foru.ms Angels' ministry.
Graphics should be seasonally appropriate (holidays, seasons, etc.)Shalom :wave:

I believe that all of mine comply with those rules, and thanks for the reminder, though I wrote the rules myself, it's always good to be reminded of them.

edited to add ~ I hope you weren't offended by my putting "art by adiya" on my graphics. It's not a title of ownership. I did it for the angels, so they could remember who made it and PM me if they want it altered to look different or something, as was requested earlier here for one of mine. It seemed there was confusion about who had made some of them. I hoped that doing this would help. It's just a little image i'm making, on a computer, and not really important in the grand scheme of things. So yes of course they all belong to the angels after I place them here. I've made them just for the angels. :) Happily and with love.

Typically, a watermark is not defined as such, but rather it is a semi-hidden and/or completely hidden variable within the image proper that when examined in depth is visible. Some use a type of stamp with their name and a particular image (albeit a tiny one that is faint in color hehe), and that is how their work is recognized. For me, being that I am already associated with the creation of the CF (now foru.ms) angels, I hadn't thought that some might see "art by adiya" as a watermark. My intention was so the angels would know who to ask, if they wanted a variation of it. With so many contributing, and with my not being here daily, I thought it would help.

However, in the future I won't add that. They'll just have to read backwards to find out who made it or perhaps you can remind them, if they want another version of it.

I'm surprised that you just added this watermark rule, because I'm sure that I had something like that in there, present, but either way I'm happy to abide by it. :hug:

I'll add to the graphics now and again if nobody minds. It helps me relax, which is something that I need. :)

What about reorganizing each person's art on the photobucket site under their name, as an alternative to a watermark or "Art by.." sig on the artwork itself? Would that work, or would that be too much work to re-organize the photobucket site? Or would it even be appropriate or practical? (Just my attempt to help.)

With that in mind, how do you become a Foru.ms Angel, and what all is involved in being one?

Gwenyfur should see your post here and get back to you via PM. She's managing the angels now. :) If you don't hear from her in 24 hours, just send her a PM. She gets busy in life, as we all do, so she may not catch your post here right away. She'll talk to you about the qualifications and such. Even if you haven't been a poster for long enough, there are still lots of opportunities here for you, like helping with the graphics, until you have met the qualifications.

I found some new types of fill tiles...they aren't quite glittery so I snagged 'em up to see how they'd work...

I have a question. When I run out of space again in my Gallery section, the artwork below, along with Post #123 in this thread, will be the first ones I'm going to delete from my Members Art gallery (because I don't like them very much). If you delete the original artwork (i.e., from Fellowship>Gallery>Members Art), will the artwork in this thread that it links to (Foru.ms Angel Graphics), disappear? In other words, will this post then have these words, but no image? (i.e., when I delete the image from my Members Art gallery, will the image below disappear?)

Can you put the letters maybe in a dark purple? Because the white letter d is kinda blended in with the background. Otherwise, it is awsome!

Anybody know how to decrease the file size of a GIF?
I made an animated GIF for someone to use as their Avatar.
I made it 100 pixels X 100 pixels, but the file size was 139k, so it did not accept it.
I decreased it to 70 pixels X 70 pixels, but it was still 139k, oddly enough, so it still gave an error message when trying to save it as an Avatar.
In Photoshop, I tried an "Optimize to File Size" option, and under "Desired File Size," I put 85k, but it still gave an error when trying to upload it as an Avatar.

My next idea is probably to crop it and cut out some of the picture.

(I just learned how to create spirograph-type designs
in Illustrator the other day, as well as text shadows in
Illustrator, so I just had to incorporate these somehow...
and then bring it into Photoshop for the other effects.
Creating stuff is so much fun!)

Cool! Thanks for giving a new meaning to my recent graphic! I've never seen a church with a sign such as you say, but that sounds like a cool idea. Years ago, there was a Methodist church about 15 min. away that had a prayer room open 24 hours, and I used to go there at all hours. That was such a blessing. I would come out of there filled with joy, peace and the Holy Spirit, after spending really precious quality time with Him, and soaking Him up.
