How can one share the truth of the Orthodox faith to a Protestant friend without sounding patronizing or self-righteous? Sometimes, it's been very hard for me to do, even when my intentions are good.

Your life is testimony enough. Also, the best evangelism is prayer.

A great tool that is working on me is the whole "sola scriptura" angle. There is a neat pamphlet published by a Catholic house (Tan) that really worked me over, challenged what I thought was indisputable truth.

Well, speaking for myself, I know what REALLY got me was the timeline of when the various "religions" got started. You can clearly SEE that Orthodox was at the beginning, and has remained the same. You could give them one.

Now, if they don't care, or don't even want to know, then I think it better to just not say anything, but let God work on their hearts.

What can we do for people who think the liturgy is boring and too old-fashioned?

It is a revelation of Heavenly Worship. Hardly boring, very, very old-fashioned!

What can we do for people who think the liturgy is boring and too old-fashioned?Have them sit through a non denom service where the worship music isn't to their liking and the pastors preaching doesn't really speak to them. Now thats boring, and lasts longer than an orthodox service.

The first orthodox service I went to dragged because I didn't know what was going on or the order.
After 3 weeks it just flew by!

I try to relate why we need the liturgy to how in the Old Testament, God set very specific rules as to how He is to be worshipped, and I explain that, in worship, our song is to glorify God like how the angels do in Heaven.
