I can almost understand the emotional ties to what was once called "Christian Forums". But emotions get in the way of reality. A true Christian Forum never existed where there was everyone defining christianity in their own terms. Let Erwin keep the name he feels most comfortable with. I hear he's a doctor. That's a job that's already a full load. He has apparently chosen to lighten up.

Hmm, that is a good point. and I think that in the long view of the debate, you are correct, kobuk. After all, this here fundamentalist as well as being an independent baptist, could look over upon more than a few sections and communities of the "Christian Forums" where the people there espoused and defended what you, myself, and others would consider to be heresies.
There really are more important issues to talk about than the name of a website.

I agree. There's no point in fighting Erwin on this. I had considered it. But I think perhaps renaming the boards is the more honest approach. My frustration is that I came here looking to chat with Christians to begin with and that's not what this forum is really about (even before the name change). In addition, you can expect that the Fundie forum will not be moderated the way we hope, especially when it comes to reports, because they go to a group of mods that include many different beliefs, not just Chrstian. If the Fundie forum is to survive this, we will have to find a different way of doing things from now on, or just be prepared to be overrun by a variety of other religions, etc.

I love the cartoon in your signature. Is that new, or did you always have it?

Well said desmalia.

I could add some predictions...

#1 The flood of "other religions" into the whole Forum will steadily decrease. Because the big attraction is now gone. That was the huge attraction that all Satanic cults, pagans and Apostate had towards the name "Christian Forums". Because here they were allowed to self-define their religion as "christianity" and play the game of trying to gain credibility by name association. But not anymore so it's in the past. Now they are back to square one and it will be interesting to watch their tactics shifting. A learning experience really. On how they operate.

#2 The domain name "Christian Forums" will most likely be sold. Therefore, odds are that it will resurface again under new ownership.

#3 Congregation areas like ours will become an oasis in an increasingly drier and drier desert of disbelief . Our ability to sort out the spam and take in legitimate questions from honest truthseekers will be preserved for each Congregation area. If Erwin continues on his present course of letting reality gain more influence. I think some basic tools will be given to each Congregation area so they can maintain a decent amount of order and peaceful communications.

......................................................

conclusion...

Let's show the people that do visit these forums what the Fundamentalist offers. I think the main offering is our honesty with regards to what we believe and why we don't comprimise on the essentials of the christian faith.

Ours is a non-violent Fundamentalism. Don't believe us and The Word of Yah? Let's talk. Still don't believe? Well at least you recieved the straight talk we gave and you have that to go away with - with no strings or chains attached. The seed was planted. The battle is yours to win in your own mind of your own free will.

I agree with your predictions, brother kobuk. You and I do not agree on everything concerning churches and concerning politics, but I do know that you and I are both fundamentalists who love and serve the same Lord Jesus Christ. Again, I say that your predictions are well thought out, and I really do agree with them and your concluding two paragraphs.

Don't you think something is wrong with a group of people who claim they follow Jesus yet throw a fit because "sinners" are allowed into their presence?

Jesus says in Luke that He came to seek and save what is lost. Over an over again in the gospels we read about Him hanging out with the unrighteous and the "sinners" over the major religious leaders and "good people" of His day. His closest friends were cowards, thieves, terrorists, prostitutes, rednecks, and bad-tempered men.

If Jesus were registered as a user here on these forums, do you think He'd have a problem with people like that posting around Him, or would He prefer to have his own little corner of the internet where He could be "safe"?

Fundamentalists have completed their decision to obey Yahshua and not ignore the multitude of very clear commands in Yah's Word to biblically SEPERATE from anyone who is not bringing to the fellowship table sound doctrine.

/////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

Yahshua commanded His disciples to seperate from the wolves who go about in sheeps clothing who are claiming to be christians. His Apostles dealt with "sinners" like this by means of calling them out by name, exposing them and then seperating from them. Alexander the coppersmith for example.

Your post sounded full of error on this important subject. There was no differentiation made between counterfiet christianity on the one hand and the mass of unbelievers who do not claim to be christians on the other.

Something is wrong with us for obeying hundreds of direct commands to seperate from false teachers, false prophets and other infiltrators?

I think you have to consider there are some "sinners" who are wolves that are engaged in destroying our Local Churches that are faithful to His Word and our entire presense here on earth. An excellent example of such enemies of Yahshua are the followers of Ignatius Loyola. Who founded the Jesuits to carry out the destruction of the Protestant Reformation.

The passage in 2 John was directed toward a gnostic heretic who was going around teaching the early Christians that Jesus Christ did not come in the flesh and ruining the faith of new believers. That's quite a bit different from a non-Christian who would very likely gain something from reading the posts and engaging in discussion here.

You're right - the Bible has plenty to say about false teachers and false prophets, but NO WHERE does it say that we are to completely seperate ourselves from non-Christians and allow them to go to hell. Yes, it says we're to be different. Yes, it says we're not to engage in unhealthy relationships that lead us away from the faith. But to say that we're to be completely seperate - how do you explain Paul's interaction with the scores of non-believers he converted? What about Jesus' interaction with the different people He encountered?

The last words of Jesus as recorded in the gospel of Matthew clearly tell us to go into the world - not out of it! The life of Jesus Himself is chocked full of examples of Him spending time with individuals who were considered less than desireable characters.

Sure, we're to keep our eyes open for false teachers and "wolves," but every single New Testament document is itself an act of ministry. The very reason they were written was to be shared, to build the faith of a specific group of people, or to turn an individual or group from sin. Why shouldn't these forums be used for the same thing?

The context here is our Fundamentalist Congregation Forum. There are rules of engagement here so we can preserve the intended purpose of the main section.

Let's seperate the non-fundamentalist from our main forum here and direct them to our sub-forums.

The passage in 2 John was directed toward a gnostic heretic ...

Before I go further, are u or not a fundy according to this sub-forum rules?

If u are, wellcome, let me know if u want to be added to the list. If u do not agree w the rules posted in the stickys, u should not be posting here at all, but either in the "debate" or "ask" areas. I will answer you there.

Now, if even these rules are gone, and it is a free-for-all, I want to know.

JR

According to the definition in the rules I am, though I'm not really interested in your labels.
