Spiritual growth results from trusting Jesus Christ. "The righteous man shall live by faith" (Galatians 3:11). A life of faith will enable you to trust God increasingly with every detail of your life, and to practice the following:
Go to God in prayer daily (John 15:7)
Read God's Word daily(Acts 17:11)
Begin with the Gospel of John. You may prefer to use a
modern translation of the Bible, which will make it much
easier to understand what you are reading. There are many
good translations in modern English (and in other languages).
These include:
The Living Bible
The New King James version
The New International version
The New American Standard Bible
Obey God moment by moment (John 14:21)
Witness for Christ by your life and words(Matthew 4:19; John 15:8)
Trust God for every detail of your life(1 Peter 5:7)
Holy Spirit--allow Him to control and empower your daily life and witness (Galatians 5:16-17; Acts 1:8)

I agree! Something that we should all keep in the center of our own studying and growing in Christ. :)

For salvation - No. You just have to accept Christ as your Lord and Savior.
For Growth - Yes. The Bible contains everything you need to know to live your life according to God's rules.

You can pickup a Bible from a bookstore for less than $10, you can also find Bibles at used bookstores for less than that.
You can order a free Bible from this site.

3.00 is $3.00 US Dollars.
I you can't do that go to a local church and ask for a Bible.
The times that you are on the net you can go to http://bible.gospelcom.net/ or http://www.blueletterbible.org/index.html to read the Bible online.

I don't have a lot of time on the net. And usually when I'm on I just talk to you.

As blackhaw6 said above, go to a local church, possibly a larger church, and ask them if you could have or borrow a Bible, I am sure they will be happy to give you one. You may also look at going to a library.
