^_^ ^_^ ^_^ Yes, you gave me a hint or two, Marty. I liked the one you gave me where I was able to change the borders round each box thing on the top half of the page. I enjoyed learning how to do html. Yay for the Net and all the sites where one can figure out new things. :D

I have about another week to finish up the contest I am running, and then, I think I will start collecting blessings to award to the top 3 home pages.

That has been on my mind as well, Greenie. I have been asking people to come fellowship with us as I have seen them posting around other forums. That is how Jack and Time came to be here. I think it will have to be a one on one kind of thing because I hate to say it, but our rep is terrible. It is not our fault. Conservative equates to alot of things, you know? Then, there have been other people who have worked very hard to give us a bad name too.

All, we can do is share our love with people in and out of this forum. In time and with patience, we will be seen in a different light.

LisaThe thing that worries me most is when people like Joe drift away... cos they've *experienced* the loveliness. Are we not discussing theology enough? Too much? We're gradually expanding, and that'll continue despite the best efforts of a few, but am worried we're letting people down if they drift away silently :(

Well, we don't know the reason. I mean, we did have some leave, and I kind of expressed my dislike of the notes of leaving and saying negative things about us when they left.

So, either he has left and didn't want to say anything bad. Or maybe, he is just not posting anywhere. Could have moved. Could have been banned. Could have computer problems. Anything...

Hi!! Welcome! Fellowship with us awhile and then if you would like to be a member, all you have to do is read our Statement of Beliefs. If you agree, then, go to the Stickied Sign In sheet. That is all there is to it.

Hello Anna

I like threads that are more along the lines of an discussion. Sometimes a lot of the threads on the conservative forum aren't quite like that; they're more like a series of people's thoughts arranged like beads on a string. These are very valuable in themselves, but they don't have the same warming feeling as a true interactive conversation.

Still a good forum though.

Still trying to pull my thoughts together on this one, and I'm not blaming anyone. I think the CC forum is quite good.

However, one reason why I like some of the debate threads is that they have more of the feel of a conversation. It is common for multiple members to exchange back and forth, to a large extent commenting on what other people have written. The only problem is with the combative nature of the debate threads.

In contrast, it is common on the CC forum for an opening post to pose a question and a long series of single answers from different people to follow. This is less of a conversation and more of a succession of disjointed statements - like the comments in a visitors book.

If we contributed more times to a thread, referring back to what each other had said (perhaps in a bit more depth as well), I think the threads would be more like an interactive discussion - thus conveying more of a sense of fellowship.

If only it were that easy. I sit, sometimes, and watch my children when they think I am not looking. I watch them interact with other children, how easy it is for them to go up to complete strangers to them and just accept that they are good. It doesn't occur to them to be cruel to each other at the outset. They will draw out shyer children, forgive instantly in the face of an apology from someone they were hurt by. They see good in every other child they come across, they share everything. Then I think, why can't we be like this as adults? When do we lose this?

That's so true. I think that's why it broke my heart so much to see my little one go off to school for the first time this year...they don't come back the same. They learn so much there, good and bad. If only I could shelter her from the harshness of the world. :sigh:

We could stroll the shores of Lake Michigan

I don't live there - just got back from vacation (and yes, I took the pics). I would move there in a heartbeat - it is just a gorgeous area (and while it is a growing area they are careful about how they develop - very respectful of their surroundings)

Sounds wonderful:)

It's football btw;)

Sorry to have to disagree - but football is the sport where people carry a rather oblong ball in their arms. ;)

Seriously - how we got the name football in the US is beyond me - very little feet involved anymore. However, soccer will always be soccer to me.

Love the stream shots - there's something about a clear stream - no apparent pollution by men.

And what gorgeous fall color! Fall is my favorite season - love the temps, the color change, how clear the air is.

Thanks for sharing Free2be:ebil::ebil:

Those really were great. I love camping places like that.

Do ya'll get to camp much?

Caves are really cool to camp in too. Here near where i live there is a cave where several hundred yrs ago, native americans sheltered there. It was pretty big, had 2 large chambers near the entrance, the second one had a hold knocked in the floor though and reveals another cave under it with a stream. There is a stream running into the main part of the cave and turns our of the main chamber, making its own cave about 4 feet high and 2 feet wide lol.

In the first chamber too there is a large circle of very large cut rock. almost squares about 2 feet thick each. In the middle of this circle is a mound where they had their camp fires in the winter, it would have been very warm, ive camped in it in the winter. They actually drilled a flu hole above the center of the ash mound to the surface, so that the cave wouldnt smoke up. The circle of rock outside the ash mound of course were seats. Its just so undescribable, what you feel when youre camping in it, when you notice all the details and signs they left behind

Hi everyone!!

I took the weekend off to spend some time with the hubby. LOL, it didn't turn out as expected. I was hoping for some "special" time, but alas, we just fell right back into the same schedule. He did get loads of catch-up sleep, and that did wonders for his mood, but other than that it was just friends sleeping over for my two younger, grocery shopping on Saturday and cleaning the garage, oldest daughter fighting with boyfriend and husband making fun of them, and then football all day on Sunday.

Hehe, I kid like I'm complaining, but I am surely not. It feels great to have him here to watch football.

I hope everyone is doing well. I see we have no shortage of drama on the boards LOL.

Tangeloper - How is your hubby?

GreenMunchkin - Please don't lose heart

Criada - I haven't seen you, are you ok. I hope all this fighting isn't affecting your faith. PM me if you ever need a *virtual* hug.

Lisa - You have been in my thoughts soooo much this weekend. I worry about you, hun.

LT - How's training ;)

I want to give you all hugs  I hope everyone's day is going well.
