Have y'all noticed how quiet CF, 4U, whatever, is these days? It sort of feels like a town in the wild west that's slightly deserted :(

Mind you, it's not the most welcoming place at the moment. Too many rulesy things. Will be better when we can shunt them all into their own forum :(

So many of us want to stay because if every conservative Christian left... :help: But maybe staying *isn't* right. Does it mean we're supporting His being compromised?

Hold on you guys. There is a right way and a wrong way to teach and preach. This is not about NG having stated his opinions but where and how he did it. I have argued homosexuality and abortion until I was blue in the face, but I was never reported a single time.
The Conservative belief CAN be taught and preached. However, it does need to be done in the right way. If one feels strongly that it must be spoken in a way that is against forum rules, then, it should be done "street preaching" or some place other than here.
Members know the rules when they sign up and rules on HOW and WHERE we can speak have not changed.

Ah...I see what you mean. Well, I dunno. It's a tough call. When the changes first came in and then the name change I likened it to our presence here in the world. This world of ours is getting increasingly more and more God-less. And yet, we don't leave this world. At least not until the Lord tells us it's our time. No, we live in this world and we be a light for Christ and everything that is right. We stand. And that's what I kinda think we need to do here. Of course I do understand about not staying in a God-less place, but it's not quite that yet, is it? Hmm...see, told you it was a tough call. :sigh:

The debates (arguing), the flaming, the trolling, were all here before.
That hasn't changed.
It was just in a different place before, especially the DR forum. It got so bad there they closed it down!
I am here (at FU) the most, almost exclusively.

There are many people on this site that compromise the Lord. There are others that don't and stand on His Word - those people are *here*.
When I am *here* I feel the Lord's prescence, I see His light. When I'm in other forums I don't. It's quite dramatic actually.
We have the opportunity to do something amazing here. We can reach out. We can continue to stand for Truth. We can begin healing. We can pour the Lord's love into this place and let Him shine.
I took a long break from CF before joining CCC. I left for so many reasons but one of them was I was spending too much time here. It was taking up time I could be spending with the Lord. I have learned to balance my time here and after much prayer know that if I use self-control with my time God can use me.
God called me away but I bieleve with my whole heart that He has called me back as long as I can use self-control with my time. He has placed specific people on my heart from here, He has given me scriptures to share at the right moment, He is continually leading me here. As long as CCC stands, so will I.

I guess if I were to be honest, I'm not here to disciple or lead others to the Lord. That's not saying I WONT do those things if I'm given the opportunity. It's just not the bottom line of why I stay. I think we add to each others lives as friends...and the Christian fellowship here is something I lack in real life. I'm from a small city and though I've been active in my church, I don't fellowship there very much. Only on Sundays. There's more than one reason for that and it's something I'm working through as I go. But that just tells you why I'm here.

Well, the request that made me infamous with the pixelsmiths is the Zippy the Pinhead armour. Mainly because I kept requesting and requesting and requesting until they relented.
The el Pescadoro armour set is also one of my requests. It's includes the giant squid helm, lobster shield, fish scale armour and shark boots.
The Doctor Who Time Lord robes were my request, along with the Dalek. The Dalek continues to be one of favourite pieces of armoury art.
The Thread Splitter: a little guy whacking a ball of thread in half, to be awarded to people who post the post that split a thread.
Things that didn't get accepted: a giant cockroach and ABC armour (literally a request for all the characters of the alphabet with the idea that different people could wear different letters and that things could be spelt out by posting in the right order).
Ha! :D  Is the wand-thing separate? Cos I like that. Quite want one.

Done.
I LOVE the ABC idea!!!! That would have been hilarious!
Especially, if we could have gotten Gregged to do screenshots for us! ^_^

Well, the request that made me infamous with the pixelsmiths is the Zippy the Pinhead armour. Mainly because I kept requesting and requesting and requesting until they relented. Zippy the Pinhead as in the comic? Haven't seen armour for him...
The el Pescadoro armour set is also one of my requests. It's includes the giant squid helm, lobster shield, fish scale armour and shark boots.Ahh, so you're to blame for that. Should known... :P
The Doctor Who Time Lord robes were my request, along with the Dalek. The Dalek continues to be one of favourite pieces of armoury art.Dalek is excellently done, actually. Did the new(ish) series make it to America? If not, try to d/load it from somewhere, cos it's astonishingly good. The Chaos Kids will love it, too.
The Thread Splitter: a little guy whacking a ball of thread in half, to be awarded to people who post the post that split a thread. Not seen that one...
Things that didn't get accepted: a giant cockroach and ABC armour (literally a request for all the characters of the alphabet with the idea that different people could wear different letters and that things could be spelt out by posting in the right order).Cockroach idea is viiiiiile, but why didn't the letters one work? Blessings Exchange would have a ball with that.
Done. Thank you! Such a nice surprise :) Have you noticed, though, that on your character it looks ace, but on mine it just looks creepy? Like it's sentient, uneducated and full of rage :(

Yes, we have the new Doctor Who series here. A bit delayed, but here nevertheless.
My family loves it. My wife has a crush on the Doctor (Eccleston especially) which I think was the producer's hopes, and my kids just love the show. We've watched the old series together numerous times.
Personally, I'm a Hartnell fan. Go figure - crotchetiest of the bunch.

I think the ABC armour would have consumed all of the pixelsmiths' production capacity for the month. Probably why it was rejected.

Did you know I love the macabre?
I have pet cockroaches, and the fact that the Fool's Fool is a little creepy tickles me.
But I get a kick out of haunted houses, dark rides and old Vincent Price and Tom Baker horror films too.

Have y'all noticed how quiet CF, 4U, whatever, is these days? It sort of feels like a town in the wild west that's slightly deserted :(
I love slightly deserted wild west towns, I drive around them taking pictures :)
Well, he wants no part of something that would compromise the Lord so much. And it's absolutely true that that's what's happening here.
So many of us want to stay because if every conservative Christian left... :help: But maybe staying *isn't* right. Does it mean we're supporting His being compromised?
Well, if you all leave I'm going to end up being extremely conservative here, and before I was on the conservative side of liberal ^_^
I've made a number of . . . unusual requests of the pixelsmiths.
Harlequin/jester/fool is how I described it. It's listed as The Fool's Outfit in the armoury.

*Surgeon Feedback* (http://www.crosswalkmail.com/zvnappmt_tljzhvxh.html)
Surgeons invited to dinner parties are often asked to carve the meat -- or worse yet, to watch the host carve while commenting on the surgeon's occupation. At one party, a surgeon friend was watching the carving while Harry, his host, kept up a running commentary: "How am I doing, doc? How do you like that technique? I'd make a pretty good surgeon, don't you think?"
When the host finished and the slices of meat lay neatly on the serving platter, the surgeon spoke up: "Anybody can take them apart, Harry. Now lets see you put them back together again."

Hey, I'm going to get my hair colored for the first time in my life tomorrow. Too much gray to handle now LOL

Girl, I have had gray hair since I was 17. I have had to color since I was in my mid twenties. It really is no big deal unless you are going to get a seriously different color. I do not recommend that. There are also some great products out there to help you keep your color after you have it done.
What is hilarious is my daughter (20) has had strands of gray since she was about 16. Her friends or I will comment on it, and she gets so angry. She will scream, "It's blonde! It is not gray!" She is a brunette, honey, and she is in big denial! ^_^
The color will change the texture of your hair. You will need to condition it very, very well, every single day because it will definitely dry it out. Your gray hair will come out a little lighter and it will look like you have natural hilights.
Just make sure you tell your hairdresser what you want. If you do not want red tints, tell her that. If you like aubern or are naturally aubern, tell her that. If you want to go lighter, tell her that, and generally as you get older, you should go lighter.
Hope this helps. You are going to love it, I am sure. It would be nice to keep our hair virgin from color but unfortunately, it doesn't work out like that.

My hubby likes the color. I like the color. I feel more confident with it. It is a very girly thing, I guess.
My husband shocked the life out of me a couple weeks ago. He went and had his head shaved. Not completely bald, but as close to it as you can get. After I got over the shock, I like it now. I rub his head every day for good luck as I leave for work. I hope he keeps it that way.
Guys are so self-concious about losing their hair, but I think on many men, it looks good. The worst thing in the world is when they try to cover it up somehow.

ROFL, ok, I can't do that whole quote tower thing, so I'm just gonna address ya all :)
MrJim: Your wife is a very lucky lady that you are like that. My husband is like that too, believe it or not. He's not big on the makeup, and he could care less if I'm gray or not, but I wanted to try it. My self-esteem has kinda bottomed out lately, and I thought this might brighten me up. I'm not doing anything drastic at all. And as far as the makeup, I wear foundation #1 for the sunscreen out here and #2 I am super fair with loads of freckles, and I like to even out my skintone, other than that, it's pretty much just the mascara and I'm gone. I don't like too much makeup, it bothers my contacts.
Lisa: I have a cousin who was completely gray by the time he was 20. He is so very handsome, and it was always striking on him. I think I may go with a reddish-brown, which is what my non-gray hair is now. I had a lot more red when I was younger, but that has changed. My hair is super curly normally, so I'm hoping it doesn't change the texture too much. It already frizzes when it's hot.
LT: Your pic is gorgeous. How lame am I that I never look at anyone's pics. I love your haircolor. And I know what you mean about bald guys. A lot of the Marines I know shave their heads, especially in the summer out here, because they don't want to bother with the constant haircuts. It's very sexy. I adore my husband, and I think he is about the hottest guy alive, but his ears don't work with a bald head, if ya get my drift.
Ok, I'm going to keep reading LOL. I'm trying to catch up from running my errands.

I started getting some gray fairly late. One day I was looking in the mirror thinking how interesting it was that my hair was getting blonder as I got older. How lucky!
Duh.
It was the gray blending in with the blonde.

^_^ That's what I thought too. :P I've only found a few of them, but at first I thought they were just blonde hairs. What really bugs me is the grey coming out in my eyebrows. I pluck those babies as fast as I possibly can!

Hi all:
I'm just popping in for a quick minute to say hi and tell everyone that there were no major hair disasters today. I really love the color. I can't wait to do it myself tomorrow. Hairdressers love to go all poodle with my hair because it's so curly, so I indulge them, but I hate it. I don't mind loose curls, but I hate how curly my natural hair is LOL.
I hope everyone is doing well today.

What color did you go with 3g2d?

I went with a Red. I honestly didn't have a clue when I walked in there what to even ask for. The girl that did my hair was amazing, though, and we went over color wheels. She and I agreed on a color, and it came out AMAZING. It's like a deep auburn. When I get a chance to do it myself, I will take a pic.
It bums me out, though, having curly hair. My three girls have bone straight hair and are all blond (although the teen is a different color every 6 weeks or so :) ) None of my kids look like me :sigh: LOL

Honestly it's a tough job. I applied and went through some of the training before realizing I didn't have the time nor temperment for it.
After a quick check in here I head straight to the ecumenical and support reports to see who's gotten in trouble lately, then bunny trail off there before heading back here. It's fun to look at, sorta like slowing down to look at a trainwreck. But the mods get worked over (I've worked over a couple in my time ;) ) and get little respect or thanks. I think they do it 'cause they like the pain...but ya oughta try it out if ya ain't got enough pain in yer life now:P

heh. a while back when I sent my original CFC off packing to N-space in the TARDIS I emptied out my closet and gave all my stuff away. I think I had something like 500 items.
I've got the blessings in the bank accruing interest. They're intended to be part of the prize money for the WWMC forum logo contest, but WWMC doesn't seem to be too horribly interested in having a logo given the level of activity the contest generated. Ok, there has been so much sadness tonight, and please understand; what I am about to post is in no way intended to undermine anyone's pain. I just really thought we could all use a giggle, and this is about as funny as anything I have heard lately.
I am a huge Brad Paisley fan. I think his songs are so much fun. Here is his newest: (if you think it's inappropriate, let me know, I'll remove it. It was only intended to lift the mood)
Oh, and PS: I didn't put it in the music thread because it seemed so bad to put it in there with all that lovely Christian music LOL.
I'm Still A Guy -- Brad Paisley
When you see a deer, you see Bambi
I see antlers up on the wall
When you see a lake you think picnics
I see a large mouth up under that log
You're probably thinkin’ that you're gonna change me
In some ways well maybe you might
Scrub me down, dress me up
Oh but no matter what,
Remember, I'm still a guy
When you see a priceless French painting
I see a drunk naked girl
You think that riding a wild bull sounds crazy
And I'd like to give it a whirl
Well love makes a man do some things he ain't proud of
And in a weak moment I might
Walk your sissy dog, hold your purse at the mall
But remember, I'm still a guy
And I'll pour out my heart, hold your hand in the car
Write a love song that makes you cry
Then turn right around, knock some jerk to the ground
'Cause he copped a feel as you walked by
I can hear you now talkin’ to your friends
Sayin’ yeah girls he's come a long way
From draggin’ his knuckles and carryin’ a club
And buildin’ a fire in a cave
But when you say a backrub means only a backrub
And you swat my hand when I try
Well now what can I say at the end of the day
Honey, I'm still a guy
And I'll pour out my heart
Hold your hand in the car
Write a love song that makes you cry
Then turn right around
Knock some jerk to the ground
'Cause he copped a feel as you walked by
These days there's dudes getting’ facials
Manicured, waxed, and Botoxed
With deep spray-on tans and creamy lotiony hands
You can't grip a tackle box
Yeah with all of these men linin’ up to get neutered
And headin’ out to be feminized
But I don't highlight my hair, I've still got a pair
Yeah honey, I'm still a guy
Oh, my eyebrows ain't plucked, there's a gun in my truck
Oh thank God I'm still a guy

*Military Time* (http://www.crosswalkmail.com/ovxminmv_npbnhdxh.html)
My wife Delores never quite got the hang of the 24-hour military clock. One day she called the orderly room to speak with me. The person who answered told her to call me at the extension in the band rehearsal hall.
"He can be reached at 4700, Ma'am," the soldier advised.
With a sigh of exasperation, my wife responded, "And just what time is that?"

ROFL, I hate to admit this, but the whole military time thing always confuses me. I hate having to do math to figure out what time things are going to happen. Don't I have enough to deal with trying to remember all those acronyms???? Sheesh.

Hi Lisa, pray all is well with you! :)
Pretty good, actually. The company I work for paid for everyone in our department to go to this huge resort. Many of the guys went golfing, some played games, and most of us ladies went to the SPA!!!! It was heaven on earth! I had a facial, a pedicure and a manicure. The facial was absolutely divine!!!

It really was. I joked that they were doing it for my 40th birthday and everyone went along with it. We had so much fun and I got closer with some of my department that I didn't know very well. Just a great day.

Yeah, we did. And...we are starting budgets and Cost Roll. We were actually supposed to go in August, but it got delayed until today. As it turns out, August was sooooo hot, and today was just perfect weather. About 75 degrees.

Nothing special...just spending time with her. :) The situation is the same. The good thing about it all is that Jaelyn is taking parenting classes and learning how to be a better parent. We are praying for her and her mother that they will be saved. They seem to have softened at least...not as hard hearted. We will see. :prayer: My nephew is coming back to the states in November and will be here for court in December.
