Nah, the looms are too large to make flowers. Now, I suppose if you wanted a flower that was about 4 inches in diameter, you could do that.
But, the looms make rows just like in regular knitting. To make a scarf, you stop on a certain row, and then, go the other direction. If you are making a hat, then, yes, you just keep going round and round until you are done.
Oh, and that is exactly what happened to me. I had the back piece of a hand bag done. I then started on the front. The yarn was that eyelash yarn in which the core yarn was supposed to be white. All of a sudden, ever few inches the core yarn would turn pale orange!!! It was a black and white purse! It was awful!

Uhm, sure! We talk about it all the time, right girls?
You must have just missed that conversation.
Like, we were talking about a 69 Dodge RT Superbee and driving it at 100mph down Main Street.
Actually, my husband really did that. He ended up having to sell the car to pay the lawyers. He was 17 at the time. If he still had that car, it would be worth $100,000 today. It was all original! :swoon:
The first time I ever saw my husband, he was in that car. Love at first sight...with the car...^_^
My husband wants to buy me a 67 Camaro when he gets his money. He is going to buy a project car and rebuild it. I am going to have mine painted baby blue with the white racing stripes. It is going to be sooooo SWEET!
We have a antique car show once a week in the town I live in. So, my hubby and I will go show off when we get our cars.
I can talk Harley's too! ^_^

All girls!!! I bet y'all have fun shopping (and gets expensive too no doubt)
My son never wanted to go shopping except for shoes and even then, I had to drag him. He would get his feet measured, then, run to the video game room. My daughter and I could open and CLOSE the stores!

Now your talking!!!!! the 1967 Camaro is an awesome car. I saved my money when I was a teenager to buy one. Then I saved a bunch more money to get it just like I wanted it. Then, I got stupid and rolled it while racing a vette. Oh well, it was great while it last it.:clap:

Oh, yeah. My husband said that getting a 67 was going to be harder for some reason, but I have no idea why. Is that the year they came out? I don't know that much about them, but I just think they are pretty. 67 is the year I was born, so that is why I want that year in particular.

They were introduced in the fall of "66 and I seem to remember that the '67 Camaro was inspired by the '66 Nova. Mine was a SS trim with a 327 engine which me and a group of my friends tricked out to put out a little over 700 horse power. Awesome car.
I was a couple of cars ahead of the vette when my front left tire blew and I lost control. No injuries but a lot of crying.

Well, at least you went out fighting. My poor hubby had to sell his baby. Did you see where I posted that he did 100mph down Main Street? He said the reason was because at 3am, all the lights are green. ^_^
Now, THAT was a sweet car. A 69 Dodge RT Superbee with a HEMI!!!!
It was so loud that you had to yell to get people to hear you when you were inside of the car. Oh, that was a pretty car.
My uncle bought a 1967 Plymouth RoadRunner NEW!!! He had to go to Vietnam and so my grandma used to drive it once a week at his request. It made my grandma into a hell driver, and I am not kidding.
Once, we all had to go out of state for a funeral. My Mom, my sister-in-law and my grandma was riding with me. There was a big truck in front of me, and so I decided to pass. My grandma was yelling in the backseat, "Go Lisa Go!" It was hilarious. If you ever met my grandma before Alzheimers got her, she was like this typical little old lady who wore dresses and pearls all the time.
But then, she used to read True Crime magazines too. The really raunchy ones. She would hide them under the couch and under her bed. ^_^
She had a bit of a wild side. It must be where I get it from.

Ahhhh! Oh, she's a wonderful Marple. The only thing is, she played the evil witch in "Robin Hood, Prince of Thieves", so I always equate the two a wee bit :help:
Marple is definitely up there with the best detectives... beaten only by Poirot and Columbo. And Monk is good. Also Murder, She Wrote and Diagnosis Murder. But for entirely different reasons :D
Would you ever go on one of those Murder Mystery weekend things?
I think it would be wonderful fun to go on a mystery weekend/cruise/etc. I love mysteries.
I have BBCAmerica on my DISH and it's full of the most sordid sex soap operas, but often on Mondays it has mysteries that are absolutely exceptional. One program was Waking the Dead and the final one of this season was about a now deceased detective looking into the murder of a little Jewish girl in the early 1940's. It was amazing - I've kept it on my DVR to watch every so often.

BBC must have thought that all the USA wanted was Footballer's Wives, etc. The shows are truly disgusting! But the mysteries .... ahhhhh, heaven. Unfortunately they are now doing a "car" reality show. Borrrriiiinnnngggg! Hopefully my shows will be back in the fall.

Give the movie a skip. The book was soooo much better. The movie was tricked out with Peter O'Toole and John Rhys Davies so one thought it might be good but the starlet who played Esther was soooo bad it was laugh out loud. Lush production values do not a good movie make. Figures it was TBN which produced it. :(

Hi Debi
How aare you?
actually I am ok this morning except I had to go to the doc's yesterday because I thought I had something like really bad allergies or even pink eye and found out that I have an ocular tear in my eye, and that it is effecting my vision. So now I have eye drops for my eyes that I will have to put in 4x a day for the next 3 to 6 months until it heals and I am wearing a patch over my right eye.
Then they will be able to determine how much vision I have lost and told me that I will probably go blind in that eye. But my other eye is great which is good.
I am beginning to feel like I am being tested for endurance and patience here LOL, but as my Aunt always says God never gives you more than you can handle and he must think me pretty special if he thinks I can handle so much :)

The boys are doing well. My step-daughters mom just had another baby girl this week so she's estatic.
God has really gifted this author, I just really love his writing. Blessed Child is about a young boy who loves Jesus wholeheartedly and has the gift of healing. I found this book much different then his others, maybe because it was also written by another author Bill Bright. I loved it and I am still thinking about the message intended.

Philippians 1:3-6 "I thank my God every time I remember you. In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now, being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus."
Ephesians 1:15-23 "For this reason, ever since I heard about your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love for all the saints, I have not stopped giving thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers. I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better. I pray also that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints, and his incomparably great power for us who believe. That power is like the working of his mighty strength, which he exerted in Christ when he raised him from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly realms, far above all rule and authority, power and dominion, and every title that can be given, not only in the present age but also in the one to come. And God placed all things under his feet and appointed him to be head over everything for the church, which is his body, the fullness of him who fills everything in every way."

I dreamt I found a paperback book with all our posts on the Conservative forum in it. They had been compiled for people to read through.

Love ya! :hug:Hmm... got mixed feelings, actually. On the one hand, the kids seem to genuinely love it, and adults frequently insult the intelligence of little folk, so if they look that happy, it's because they really are, and only Christ can make people feel that way.
That being said, the "army of God" stuff raised a couple of questions... They may just be using that as another way of saying "Body of Christ", but kids being introduced to Jesus and seeing it as some sort of war, or army isn't good.
Also, that thing where they were putting things saying "Life" over the kids' mouths in public. I can't think of any circumstance when that would be ok. So, got very mixed feelings about it, to be honest.

My wife and I have come to the conclusion we need to start looking for another church. We currently attend a conservative SBC church, and while we love the people, we have real issues with the teaching (wouldn't have expected that, now would you :D ). This has been a struggle for us, and we've been carefully listening and praying and waiting and listening and praying and waiting, and our word is now it is time to move.
Additionally, I've started up the negotiations and processes for buying our neighbor's corner market. Again, that's been a year's worth of discernment waiting for the word. We're prepared to move with it, but's still an anxiety inducing excercise.

Heh, thank you. You're too generous..
Youch. You've a fair bit on your plate, then. Am sorry, dude.
Thank you. We're working through it. It's all part of living life and trying to be faithful.
What parts of the teaching do you disagree with?
I don't know if I can go into that here without inadvertantly breaking sub-forum rules.
Meh. Ya know. Not too bad. Feel sad about all the ugliness, though.
We are transiting liminal space, we are here, but not yet arrived. There's something about a forum structure breeds division - perhaps because it's all we all talk about, if that makes any sense. That being said, some people are determined to cause strife, and it often feels like that's an insurmountable problem :(

With my pastor, or what do I normally eat?
I'm omnivorous. I love food with the notable exception of eggplant - can't stand the stuff.
But anything with curry goes to the top of the list.
My neighbor is Indian and makes the best lunches.

Also... eggplant. Is that aubergine?
Also also... it got lost in all the kerfuffle: you said you may be buying your neighbour's corner market. What does that mean? Is that a shop? Or an actual market? Must to remember me Ingerlish :P Different wordology.

He owns a store that's right next to our house. Around here we call them corner markets. It used to be a grocery and deli, but he runs it mainly as a convenience store. He admits he underworks the business because he's not interested in it anymore. I think it has good potential for growth and for serving the neighborhood which is growing and changing in character.
So, I think in your parlance it would be more of a shoppe. Is that right?

I did love it - it was in the early 1990's. Because of going so into debt, I began to travel doing antique shows and met DH. Married him a couple of years later. He was a crusty old New England antique dealer and he taught me how to make money in the business. Didn't help my debt much, but I had a wonderful time. Did eBay also, but burnt out. Still do every now and then!

So long as the appraisals come in where they should, then I shouldn't have a problem with the financing since he's selling it to me way under market value. He wants out badly.
And while the idea of a used book shop con coffee counter sounds great to me, I doubt I have the market for that. This town is just now learning what espresso is and we are also unfortunately in the area of our state with the lowest level post-secondary/college education. So upscale coffee and used copies of Das Capital just aren't going to pay the bills I'm afraid.
No, I am keeping it a general convenience, but I am going to focus it more as a Latino Mercado. Latinos are the growth segment of this neighborhood and the next closest mercado is in fact inconvenient as it doesn't have street level access.

Morning all. Today is a happy day for me. I am going to a Return and Reunion brief today, which in and of itself is a very boring thing. BUT......what it means is that hubby will be home within the month, and that is an awesome thing!!!!
I had some issues with my daughter this morning, but I'm not going to let them bring me down. We will be making banners with the kiddos, and they are so excited. Please everyone, say prayers that nothing goes wrong, and he gets to come home on time. It's been a long 7 months.

That's great news, sis.

I'm glad it's going well!!
My reunion went really really great! I left a bit sad...we're so far away!! And since then, have been a bit resentful at my mom...feeling ripped off I guess, but that's passing too. :) So now we're planning our next visit!
   That's awesome! I'm so glad things went well.

Hi Hentenza
Hello LivingLifeHisWay
How do you do Miss Munchkin?
How ya doin' Nick4Christ?
Guys, I've got to get fit again. I started running along this track where people walk and jog and pick blackberries. It is an old railway line turned into a sort of park. But then I broke my leg and couldn't do it for a bit. Now it's a case of getting motivated again.

Yes it was brush fire in San Bernadino county. It was very weird driving into it!

I bet. How close did you actually get to it?
I saw something on the news about the fires in Northern California. They said the weather is heating up and not helping the situation any. :(

Fire in Big Bear over the weekend:

The fire was expected to spread rapidly, possibly effecting Big Bear Valley. Fortunately, the Lord had other plans. There are over 30,000 residents in our mountain community.

Good Morning everyone!! Its Friday, Hope everybody has a great weekend!!
I promised to take my kiddos to Chuck E. Cheese tomorrow. I don't know what I was thinking, I hate that place. But, ah well, it will be a way to pass some hours away. Other than that, it's all about the cleaning and getting the house ready for hubby's homecoming.
I'm sorry, I know I keep bringing that up, but I can't help it. This particular deployment has been very difficult, and I have to keep reminding myself that it almost over so that I can make it through another day. :sigh:

Thanks for the hugs, they are needed. Yes, my kids are very hyper now. My 9 year old is not having a good time of it though. Now that we have started counting days, it's almost like she can't contain any emotion. She runs the extreme of everything, happiness, anger, anything she feels seems to be mulitplied. She is normally very level. I will be glad when this deployment is over. Most of all because my 17 year old is starting to become more than I can handle alone.

Umm - let me think - whose idea was it.....? :D
We could post the right number of things for the day...like 18 of something today, 17 tomorrow etc....
OK - so someone may be able to think of something more relevant than that...:)
