What short term Bible Studies have you participated in that you really liked? My church is putting together its small group ministries for the year and has asked for input. Two of the studies being considered are "Living Prayer" by Maxie Dunnam and "Experiencing God," by Henry Blackaby...both sound very interesting to me.
I was thinking something on a Max Lucado book would be good, though I know at least 1 of the Sunday school classes is already doing one ("God Came Near"). I recently read "In the Grip of Grace" and frankly I could use more study on it. Not that it's all about me. http://www.thesmilies.com/smilies/rolleye0013.gif (http://www.thesmilies.com) LOL.
Anyone heard of the ones I mentioned? Other suggestions?

What about 40 days of purpose using "the purpose driven life"

Yep, that's on the list too. I just got finished reading the book on my own. Did you do the study? Does it go a little more in depth than the book itself?

I haven't done the study, but I know people who have. They say its great.

Our church as a whole did a study on The Purpose Driven Life a few years ago. Truthfully, it didn't make a great impression on me.

I've done "Living Prayer", years ago. Some of our people found it difficult to read; it was over their heads.
For some reason, I feel led to suggest to you Celebration of Discipline by Richard Foster. Don't ask me why or where that came from, I really don't know.
As far as Purpose Driven Life goes, I think it is a great book to read, but makes a poor study unless people are actually going to read it and work on the ideas during the week.

I will ask about Celebration of Discipline. I googled it, and it does seem like something that could be very good for me. If nothing else, I can always read it on my own. TY for the suggestion!

Last summer, I went to my cousin's Bible study and we did Case for Christ. I had read it before...but I thought doing the Bible study was great.

Oh I like that idea too. I recently read "More than a Carpenter", which I think is similar. Anyway, while I enjoyed it I felt like I really had to concentrate to follow the author's train of thought...I could definetely benefit from further study.
