When people say stuff like the United States was founded upon Judeao Christian principles, are they being politically correct so as not to offend Jewish people?

Because I am not aware of any Jews or Jewish religious values supporting anything related to the establishment of this country. Except possibly the Ten Commandments.

Personnally I think this is political correctness. I am a Christian, not a Judeao - Christian.

So what kind of debate are you preposing? That Christianity isn't based on Judaism?

I think that this thread needs to be moved to invite sub-forum. It was my understanding, from what I read, that Jim believes Christianity to be separate from Judaism. This, I'm sure he would agree, is highlighted by the different Covenants and that now one becomes not a Jew, but a Christian.

Essentially, the belief is that christianity is based on the Judaic principles...

Though that can be debated I suppose.

Pardon me for butting in but as regards the OP...

The framers of our constitution actually went through the Torah and used it in the direct determination of what to include. Although many people would have it otherwise, yes indeed the constitution of the USA is founded very much on Old (gasp, "Jewish") Testament Law.
