A report thread made me realise we don't have our rules set for this bit. Should it be open to everyone, or just members?

Good question.
And the everyone part, would it be other Christians (non conservative) or all others, non creed Christains, other religion, agnostics/athiests.

Any answers anyone, thanks in advance :)

My feeling is it should be open to everyone, actually... CF's main rules would mostly cover it, but we could write the rules to actively disallow proselytizing of liberalism or other faiths, but that allow room for debate.

We really can design it completely to spec :)

I'm really not sure two wikis is a good idea GM. I think it would be more confusing for people. It's bad enough every forum has different rules much less subforums in every forum having their own rules as well.

But Letalis made a great suggestion here (http://www.christianforums.com/showpost.php?p=37364934&postcount=81) I think would be a wonderful compromise. It would keep us with one set of wiki rules and still allow for us to reach out to non-christians on a case by case basis.

Golly, that really was a great idea :D

Has it been written into the wiki or should we figure out the wording in the wiki thread?

Ok...worded it as best I could. Feel free to make changes if it doesn't read right. :)

I would just like to point out that debate between conservatives and liberals already has a place, in the Theology forums.

I really does not make sense to duplicate that here. Conservatives do not have a place to debate each other UNLESS it is here, so it should not be opeend to all . .

I was told this was a place for conservatives to debate each other, and anything else would be a clear exception ruled upon by the mods for the purposes of outreach. That's why I've stayed away.

I had thought this area was just for debate from non-CC's, but it seems debates that are only with CC members have been moved here as well.

If this is supposed to just be for debate between conservatives, I don't think we need a separate forum, as nearly all the other CC threads in the regular area have some degree of debate in them.

If this is just for non-CC's to debate conservatives, then, yeah, there should be a separate subforum, but debates that are among CC members only should not be moved here also.
