I found this (http://liberalcatholic.blogspot.com/) blog a few weeks ago and I have found it very useful. I think it would be helpful to start a list of such links:

That blog has been very influential on me, especially a few years ago when I had a crisis of faith. I studied these writings with my spritual director.
I would recommend the following books as well:
"Why I am Catholic", Gary Wills, 2002, Mariner Books
"The Catholic Church", Fr. Hans Küng, 2002, Modern Library
"The Coming Catholic Church", David Gibson, 2003, HarperSanFrancisco
"Loyal Dissent: Memoir of a Catholic Theologian", Fr. Charles Curran, 2006, Georgetown Press
"Sex, Priests, and Secret Codes: The Catholic Curch's 2,000- Year Paper Trail of Sexual Abuse"; Thomas Doyle, 2006 Volt Press
"Inventing Human Rights: A History"; Lunn Hunt, 2007, W.W. Norton & Company

Why I am Catholic helped to remind me why I stay Catholic. When my friend was struggling being surrounded by conservative one summer, it was the book I sent her.

Why I am Catholic helped to remind me why I stay Catholic. When my friend was struggling being surrounded by conservative one summer, it was the book I sent her.
One thing that helped me was that he only mentioned the sex scandal in one or two sentences...I was vexed and splayed spiritually and I bought it hoping for something to amplify and make crisis and make it worse. It fortunately did not...Wills did tell me that it was OK to love our Church and still dissent from Her on a certain issues.
And this remark has always stayed with me from his book: "There is nothing in Catholicism that says we have to suspend our common sense or honesty when faced with papal assertions ... that are dishonest, naive or stupid on their face."
