Feeding your pet

I have a question about feeding your pet. If you buy the food that is -25 on hungry does that hold them over longer or does it just take care of what they need at the moment?

Mine was like -2 hungry so I gave him a snack. He was -2 hungry again so I gave him another snack. I wasn't sure if I should give him a larger one like -25 or maybe even smaller but to hold him over.

The pets lose 1% Hunger for hour, so if you were to feed an item that is -25% I do not believe that it would take away the 2% Hunger AND an additional 23%...correct me if I'm wrong anyone...as I think I tried this a long time ago and it didn't work.

Thinking it would bring the pet back to 0% Hunger, then the Hunger process would start all over again. Personally I usually wait till they are 5% Hunger and feed a Biscuit good for 5% Hunger.

You can't accrue negative hunger. If your pet is at 5% hunger and you give him something that is -25%, you just lose that other 20%. It is not the most cost-efficient way to feed a pet. ;)

Just feed your pet food that closely matches his hunger... Your pet stays happy, and you don't lose blessings! :)

Thanks! I think I am getting it. He wasn't to bad over night so I fed him this morning and I'll just check back in. I just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing something!

I usually let Sweetie get to 12-15% hunger, then I'll feed her the vegetarian pet food (-12 hunger). But I always keep a bag of bananas (-25 hunger) in my inventory in case I can't log in for a day or so.

I usually feed Smuckers one a day. Or wait until ashe gets between 15-20% hungry.....

I appreciate those of you who hleped feed her this weekend though.... Some stuff came up and I wasn't able to get online at all....
