My dad showed me these parts of the gospel about Jesus healing Peter's mother and I do not know how to explain it to him. The lines are Luke 4:40, Mark 1:33, and Mathew 8:16. He doesnt believe because of the different choice of words in the gospel for this same act. In Luke its "he healed them". In Mark it says "Jesus healed many who had various dieases". In Mathew its says "Healed all the sick". I need some help explaining this to him but i just do not understand the meaning and how to explain the difference about the same event.

You can tell them that three different authors tried to write their recollections at different times later . It isn't as if they checked up on each other to get everyone exactly the same . If they did , they would hae ended up with one writing and not three . As is , it is from three different perspectives . Every little fact is not important .
Besides , it doesn't matter if the Scriptures don't contradict or do contradict . The New Covenant isn't about writings but the Spirit .

Yeah, it's different wording because it's different people writing.
The next time your dad and a few others share some event, have him go to each one separately and ask them to describe the event - they will all tell what happened in different words. Then ask your dad if that means the event didn't happen.

In Luke its "he healed them". In Mark it says "Jesus healed many who had various dieases". In Mathew its says "Healed all the sick".
I don't see the problem. These passages don't conflict or contradict one another. What is it about them that causes him problems ? Just the different choice of words by different authors to describe the same event ?
God, through the Holy Spirit, gave us 4 different accounts of the same gospel. It is told by 4 different writers, using 4 different styles of writing. Yet they all tell the same story without contradiction.
In effect, God gave us 4 different accounts by 4 different witnesses. In any court of law, testimony by only 1 witness could be disputed. If by 2 witnesses, perhaps coincidence or collusion. But 4 different witnesses to the same event make it unrefutable.

Further, when investigating a crime, the police will typically separate the witnesses (or suspects). If their stories are word for word identical, it's the first sign that they are lying.
