This poll is simple. If you are sick and tired of all the polls, vote YES to END THE POLLS.

I think this might be the time for a testimonial:
My wife works at an elementary school and has the summer off. And our kids view this as a perfect excuse to drop the grandkids off EVERYDAY... So, after months of getting up early, staying up late, having regular sleepovers, washing clothes, cooking, cleaning and limo service, playing coach, teacher and referee, we decided on a short vacation. "Sorry dear we can't watch the babies. We'll be out of town!"
Oh the joy! We made detailed plans that we knew we would never follow. Deep down inside we both understood that we would relish sleeping in late, changing our plans on the fly and not answering to anyone for a few days.
The following weekend, I had been invited to speak at a friend's ministry and so I was planning a sermon. This required a little quiet time with the Lord so I invited He and my wife to a favorite spot on the lake. I knew my wife would curl up with a book in her lounge chair leaving me time to take the Lord fishing. It is a sport that He knows much better than I.
The sky vacillated between blue and grey. The lake was high and the water murky. But I didn't care. I was happy preparing my fly fishing gear and talking with the Lord. We spoke of how the fish liked to remain within their own areas. In order to get a bite, you had to cast the bait where they live. And when the water is troubled and dirty this is even more the case. Well it wasn't long before I got my first bite. But the last segment of the rod came loose and slid down the line toward the water and the fish that was hooked on the end. I was so afraid that the line would break and I would lose both the fish and the end of the fly rod.
Somehow I knew what to do. Grasping the rod toward the other end with one hand, I held it behind me as I reached forward with the other. The fish was fighting like crazy but I managed to grab the line and the tip of the rod that seemed to float in air in front of me. In one deft move I connected the two pieces again and landed the fish.
It was a revelation! The truth was simple. the fish was caught! And I put the pieces together by His grace. In effect, all was well because I had ended the pole. :D
If you have a story of how ending the pole/poll has helped you, please share it with the rest of us.
And thank you for your support.

There was flotsam on the top of the cliffs at Pace Bend and there was debris 12 feet up in the trees at the Narrows!

Most of the other lakes are still closed to recreational activities, like the boating and such.
I went to Port A. a week or so ago, fishing is much better.
It was weird to see the water pouring over the top of one of the damns last month. The Colorado is almost back down to normal levels again. Bass fishing is good there. Last time it nearly got back down to normal, a huge storm came in. I think we're due for more rain today. I was just thinking how much we could use some more rain. lol
Kool, so do you live in central Texas?

Kool, so do you live in central Texas?Used to, a couple of lifetimes ago. My Uncle had a cabin on Deer Lake in Wimberly and my Dad had one at Spicewood Beach. Learned to swim in Cyrus Creek. I couldn't believe all the development around Lake Travis now. The LCRA parks used to be all free and mostly deserted. Those were the days...
